A Casio G

Built for use on land, they’re specialised for use in especially sandy, dusty or rubble-strewn environments. The GWG-2000 is the first to use this special type of carbon fiber-reinforced resin, which Casio says has a greater tensile strength than stainless steel, while being lighter. In fact it’s so strong yet light so as to typically be found in famously strong yet lightweight contraptions such as aircraft and racing cars. Mud Resist construction helps to ensure that nothing gets into the watch when down and dirty work takes you deep into the dirt and sludge. The step tracker is simple — it shows steps and calorie burn — and can be viewed either on the app, or by pressing a button on the watch.

Naturally, since it is all about performance, it is also packed with a bunch of functions and features. G-SHOCK watches stand out not just with their tough design, but also with their g shock protection technical refinements. From environmentally friendly solar technology and Bluetooth® through to GPS and radio technology — G-SHOCK always features state-of-the-art technology.

Quad Sensor capabilities pack compass, altitude / barometer, temperature and accelerometer features into one easy-to-read face. The Casio G-Shock Mudmaster is a rugged and waterproof analogue/digital watch packed with features including an altimeter for pilots or mountain trails. It’s inspired by pilots watches of the past with a GMT multi time zone function and buttons inspired by a jet fighter stick and sword hands and domed glass like the famous Rolex Milsub.

Viewed from certain angles, fine carbon particles are visible on the surface, forming a random black and gray pattern that not only looks appealing but is truly one of a kind. CASIO’s shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe’s dream of ‘creating a watch that never breaks’. Over 200 handmade samples were created g shock protection and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness.

When you press the top right button you get the seconds hand now pointing north for you AND a digital readout in bearing degrees for the direction you are currently facing. You can also change this readout to a NSEW readout rather than a specific bearing. The watch also allows you to drop a virtual pin on a location and then have the watch indicate direction for you to return to that location later. The numbers at 12,3,6 and 9 are easily legible and there is a digital display at the 6 position giving you a digital clock as well as the analogue hands. Just be aware that around 6pm and 6am the digital part is hard to read as the sword hour hand passes over it.

The thermometer gives you an accurate read of the current temperature which again you can customize in the app for Celsius or Fahrenheit. The watch is water resistant to 200m so could even be used when diving with the stopwatch mode as a timer. The Dial has hands that are reminiscent of the military dive watches with sword shaped hour hands and arrow point seconds hands that pay g shock watch homage to the Omega and Rolex military watches of the 1960s to 2000s. Other watches might settle for good enough, but this one’s built for people who put themselves and their gear to the test—every day. The insides have also been rearranged to slim it down by 1.9mm compared to older models. • Double LED light illuminates the face and digital display for outstanding readability.
