The use of the Carbon Core Guard structure allows the GA-2100 to be the slimmest G-Shock of all current models. The height and width of the watch is considered mid-size, rather than the large size of most analog G-Shock watches, and the watch wears very light and comfortably. The GA-2100 is currently the lightest analog-digital G-Shock model at 51 grams. Though the display is larger than a DW-5600, it wears very similarly, and g shock protection I like to think of it as an analog-digital version of the DW-5600, but with a few more features. From an ease of conversion point of view, this is so simple it’s hard to fault it, and it’s great you can swap it back and forth so you can effectively change it to suit your mood for the day. The quality is good, and it certainly gives the GA-2100 a completely different look depending on the dial colour you use as the donor watch.
For long-time Casio lovers, I think a Casioak model is a no-brainer. I love mine and, having had the GM-2100 in my hand and on my wrist, will certainly consider adding a metal variation to the stable. Surely that’s what the people for whom Casio has made these watches desired, right?
And that is just one more reason that, as I type, one hand is currently hovering over the “Buy Now” button. And given that it is priced at $99, I think I’m going to stop writing now and stop hovering. The GA-2100 line comes in a thoroughly fashion-conscious color scheme. The G-2100’s water resistance is rated to 200 meters. Casio’s traditional four-screw stainless steel caseback is engraved with the Carbon Core Guard logo.
The blackout GA A1 is still sold out everywhere, but more stock is expected in the coming months, and we will make a new post when it is available. The GA A and red GA A are also mostly sold out. Some of these models may be more readily available in some countries in regions like Southeast Asia, but beware of fakes at unauthorized shops and online. Also, there are some online scams involving the GA A1 and other popular G-Shock models, where some e-commerce websites end up shipping a completely different model. Stick with reputable authorized retailers and avoid unknown stores. The GA-2100 series appears to be G-Shock’s most successful new model launch since the GMW-B5000.
By far the most distinguishing feature for the CasiOak is the octagon-shaped bezel. It’s done in a soft way that’s not too angular or awkward. The GA-2100SU-A1JF is my favorite variation with a screen-printed camouflage pattern on top of the bezel. Fueled by the hashtag, the GA A1 quickly snowballed in social media popularity. By the time that hype-train rolled to a stop, they were all sold out.
And perhaps that’s the most important factor of all in explaining the GA-2100’s success. Many of us harbour warm feelings towards the G-Shock because it is a watch we grew up with – possibly, even, the first watch we ever owned. So, a G-Shock that one can wear unironically whether you’re into watches, streetwear or – as is increasingly the case – both?
But there is certainly more scope to wear this in a business environment. The Rolex GMT-Master II is often seen as ideal “business attire” and yet it is no more g shock watch graceful than this model on the wrist (certainly not the modern versions, that’s for sure). So is this model a more “grown-up” version of the resin model?
This I would wholly support , but if the name G-Shock appears on a watch, I genuinely feel it should be able to do what a G-Shock does.
