As a result the watch needs a big battery and does not come offered with a solar powered version. Many of the other G-Shocks now have this and I would happily pay another $100 for a slightly bulkier and solar powered version. Even with the Bluetooth power drain Casio could maybe create a hybrid set up and have a replaceable battery too to help when the watch is using a lot of features . Tied in to this I’d also love to be able to use the LED for longer because its so bright its useful as a nighttime camp flashlight when going to the toilet in the middle of the night. There is a digital stopwatch function available from the push button menu and there is also an alarm set and countdown timer function too.

Although it’s great in most situations it has a drawback that I find to be frustrating. The illumination is not the best I’ve seen because the hands don’t have any kind of paint that glows in the dark only a backlight that kind of illuminates the whole screen but not enough for very dark situations. The back panel and the index hands are well illuminated and are easy to read even if you find yourself at 200 meters underwater. The band has a very simplistic and tough connection so that you won’t need to look at the band when you close or open it and more importantly not having to worry that it may ever come off when you do not want it to. In addition to all its sensors, it incorporates all of the standard features that you would expect in a G-Shock.
Keep in mind that if you are wearing the watch on the wrist, the indicator might not be completely accurate since your wrist radiates heat. Once you have gotten the sub-dial into the correct position, the temperature will be indicated on the LCD screen.
