The Carbon

I’m a carpenter so I’ve gone through a lot of watches from the impact of swinging a hammer or the vibration from running a sawzall would vibrate the hands right off most of the competetors watches. The LED could of been a little bit brighter otherwise I’ve been really happy with this watch. After a few drinks, Nathan tells me a story that was hard to believe.

The compass incorporated into this watch is obviously useful for an outdoor watch. The compass is, as mentioned, accessed by using the top right button. Once the compass is activated, you can read the bearing via the screen and the north indicated with the second hand. The thermometer of this watch simply indicates the temperature where you are. To access this, you use the thermometer button which is the left lower button to get the sub-second to move to the temperature position.

If you are out hiking, there often tends to be informed about the current height, for example on signs or on maps. The triple sensor rating simply means that it can measure pressure , has an altimeter function, compass, and temperature. These are all sensor functions that can be baby g shock important when performing outdoor activities. The triple sensor function is incorporated into the case via an opening which can be found on the left side of the case, next to the text which indicates so. This is a quartz watch that has both an analog display and an LCD screen.

Stainless steel has been used in the upper part and a shock absorbing resin is employed in the lower part to ameliorate on every impact or shock. Speaking of the barometer, it does more than just warn about the weather. The digital pressure sensor registers differences in air pressure and using the barometer position, you can see the g shock protection pressure trend and the air pressure presented on the screen. The altimeter function works by the simple concept of measuring the air pressure and this calculating the height you are at. This makes it possible to use the air pressure to calculate altitude. When it comes to the altimeter, you do this by entering a reference altitude.

While a lot of digital watches like to boast tons of features, none of those features really matter unless the timepiece’s user interface makes using those tools accessible. Casio is getting better and better about this, and it honestly makes wearing the latest technically interesting G-Shock watches all the more satisfying. A triple layered structure with a carbon fiber sheet inserted between fine resin.

The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up”. The funny thing about this watch, is that Casio doesn’t advertise the temperature selection on its wheel of functions. In fact, you probably wouldn’t know it even read the temperature if you didn’t read the instructions. The watch has not one, but two batteries, and neither of them are solar. This isn’t out of character for a G-Shock, but the Tough Solar tech does show up in G-Shocks at this price range.

Measuring in at a bold 53.1mm wide by 55.4mm lug-to-lug with a thickness of 19.3mm, the Mudmaster makes quite the statement. It’s not just large for the sake of being large, as the case houses the G-SHOCK “Quad Sensor” – an array of tools including a thermometer, altimeter/barometer, digital compass, and step counter. Metal button pipes for each of the six buttons make for a tighter seal to keep out mud and debris, while a dual-layer caseback further ensures protection from the elements. Last one to highlight in the twin sensor collection is G Shock Mud Master GG A5DR, available in color tan. The Neo-Brite luminous hands will let you read the hour in dark situations along with the marking in the right of every hour. As said before new materials have been used in the manufacturing of this watch in order to create a two-layer guard structure that confers it a great shock resistance that you rarely see on other watches.

I used to hide in bed in the dark and gleefully turn the light on and off to see the time. Unlike my father I had a black plastic watch that looked like it was from the future. The GGB100 is the latest evolution of G-SHOCK’s commitment to ultra-durable timepieces. The G-Shock land series are built to prevent intrusion by sand, mud, or dust.
