These are nice glasses, but slightly different from my older 2140 Wayfarers. The frames and lenses are a little more upright and a little less rakish. Also, the arms are not quite as curved as my older pair. While this is different, these actually fit me nicer because they don’t sit on my cheeks like my older pair. I like them and would recommend these sun glasses to friends looking for a lower cost “genuine” Ray Ban Wayfarer.
If you often struggle to find sunglasses that suit you, a Wayfarer-style frame might be just what you need. Prior to Ray-Ban launching its Original Wayfarer in the mid-1950s, men’s sunglasses were purely functional. But this chunky, square-framed style turned them into a must-have fashion item for the first time. Wayfarer sunglasses feature a wide top rim that rests at the top of the nose, set above rounded lens frames and extending past the eyes to wing-like corners. The style is mostly flat across the front, not curving with the contours of the face.
Wayfarers were designed in 1952 by American optical designer Raymond Stegeman, who worked for Bausch & Lomb, Ray-Ban’s parent company at that time. The Ray-Ban®, Wayfarer®, is simply the most recognizable style in sunglasses. The distinct shape is paired with the traditional Ray-Ban signature logo on the sculpted temples.
You can also short press a button on the top of the right temple of the glasses to shoot a video or press and hold the button for a photo. Facebook’s logo isn’t anywhere on the device or its case. The only trace of the Facebook brand is on the product box.
With Ray-Ban, you know you’re getting quality lenses and durable frames that can keep up with you through whatever activities your day brings. Cheap sunglasses are a great way to try out new trends without spending too much money, but many pairs are more fun than functional and don’t offer enough UV protection. This is a major launch for Facebook, which announced early details about the Ray-Ban partnership and product at its AR/VR-focused developer conference last September. The company ray ban caravan has indicated that the device is a stepping stone for its AR ambitions and an effort to get users acquainted with the idea of high-tech glasses. As for the glasses’ privacy features, some are directly built into the frames, while others can be customized in the Facebook View app.
