Most probably, in my mind, it was the way the more standard “round” case sat on my wrist in addition to how interesting and intuitively arranged the display is. At first glance, I didn’t like the Casioak style, but I do find it all the more wearable than the many novelties I’ve had pass through my hands from Casio this year. This variant of the GA-2100 flies under the radar with a stealthed-out aesthetic featuring greyed hands against a dial that looks like it was 3D printed. The indices have enough dimensionality that it isn’t too difficult to tell the time, but if a decision was made to go with the ana-digi design, then it’s surprising to forego things that would make it easier to tell the time. But don’t worry, this is a G-Shock after all, and you can still display the time on the digital screen. After checking my analog G-Shock manuals, I have to agree with Chad and Darren that the 2100 range is as shock resistant as any other G-Shock.
After releasing the GA-2100 in stainless steel, Casio is doubling down on its popular CasioOak with a trio of fresh colorways. The new releases wrap the slim resin case, rubber band, and octagonal bezel in matte blue, beige, or white. All three pieces feature contrasting black dials with dual digital-analog features and chronograph functions. Like most G-Shocks, the rugged watches feature the brand’s signature shock resistance and 200 meters of waters resistance.
G-Shock’s signature shock-resistant construction as well as water-resistance and a durable resin band, make this watch a great option to add into any active lifestyle. Displaying the time in both analog and digital forms as well as providing a stopwatch and multiple alarms, the GA2100 will easily become a daily go-to accessory. The name G-SHOCK has become a byword for independence and pushing the limits. Guided by a “Triple 10” development concept, the design teams sought a watch with 10-meter free-fall endurance, 10-bar water resistance and a 10-year battery life.
It’s a new addition to my G Shock collection. The fit is always great and I love the outside light button feature on this new model. After 1 1/2 hours, I still haven’t been able to set this watch. Apparently there is a UTube g shock watch tutorial by other frustrated buyers. The time, which isn’t set yet, is a big mystery since the dial is very difficult to see except in good light. The watch is comfortable, and stylish, but , well, you get the picture.

This, in one sense, is a subtle difference, but changing up anything on a watch that has direct contact with your body will tend to have major consequences when it comes to real world wearability. While not something you’d wear as a dress piece (unless you’re being willfully transgressive, which I’m on board for) the case has an undeniable ability to slide gracefully under a shirt cuff.
I’m glad I researched or I might have not considered this range which looks better on my smaller wrists. This article clearly lacks research as well as sweeping statements That are not based on any facts . The 2100 g shock is a G shock ,it is shock resistant ,200 meters water resistant and the inner casing is protected and cushioned by many different components.Open up the watch. And do a real review before you smear the brand and make false accusations. What I understood from reading the whole paragraph(“Impact”) in the manual is that the manual is a general guide of how to operating watches with this movement, instead of exclusively for this G-shock model(GA-2100). So, there is an additional sentence to state that the shock-resistant watch models(G-SHOCK, BABY-G, G-MS) with this movement do have the ability to survive from much stronger impacts.
As undeniably cool as many of them are, at the end of the day, the thing that gets my heart pumping when it comes to watches is their mechanical nature. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have a lot of fun with a bright red G-Shock on a weekend afternoon, and that, I think, is what this watch is made for. For a collector, or anyone who looks down at a watch box with more than one or two choices in it each day, sometimes you just need a watch break you out of your comfort zone.
