I love it, I wanted to have a ‘classic’ perfume in my collection and I think it would suit my mom too as she loves intense more traditional floral perfumes. Id categorize it as a crisp Marc Jacobs Daisy/ Coach type of jasmine bomb scent, but this is more intriguing to me due to the bergamot and that was the reason I bought it. There is a beautiful green unusual sweetness here that pairs so well with the roses and there is no rose dustiness, which is my usual expectation with rose. I fell in love smelling the paper sample and bought it without trying it on.
Idole is good quality, good-smelling creation. A tangy pear and rose determine the top note. With time, the fragrance loses some of its initial effervescence. Pear and rose remain in focus, but the overall impression becomes much more powdery and soft. So the fragrance then remains on my skin until only a delicate rosy touch remains. Sillage and durability are good.
Sample review – Idole’s opening is nice, pleasant, safe bergamot and fruity notes. I can smell the pear there but it’s rather a bit synthetic then real juicy scent. But wow 15 minutes later it develops into so pretty, clean, calm and beautifully blended scent. Rose and jasmine sweet but still fresh, I am totally in love with the mid notes part.
For much younger girls, I would recommend the fragrance but still not, because it seems relatively adult. Hold does not really the fragrance, and develop on the skin also nix. Idole is an indefinable flower slush Not fish, not flesh.
Unfortunately, deeper into the dry down is where I start to dislike Idôle and I feel it becomes less appropriate for my age range (I’m 22). And it becomes super super amped up with Musk. Musky rose is probably my worst nightmare. And this stage lasts an absolute age.
My bottle was a bit warm and I got a bit of a “dill pickle” vibe, but once it cooled down it was LUSH! I really don’t understand all the hate surrounding this from reviewers AT ALL.. I think it’s absolutely lovely and I feel so girly, clean and pretty wearing it! It’s the perfect fragrance for every day and… Let’s face it, some people can’t afford to buy a million bottles of perfume.. So some of us need something gorgeous that we can count on for every day or a signature fragrance. Some of us can’t afford to spend over $300 on a bottle of perfume (ahem.. I’m looking at YOU Delina!!!) Overhyped..
