Lancome Idole Mascara

I am just not the biggest fan of the middle notes I’m getting. It’s not the worst, but it does bring down the whole scent and experience for me. Smells fruity, clean, and soapy. That quickly changes to a more floral rosey soapy scent.

We have three key themes from the classic Idole, rose, jamine and chypre that combined, create a sensual scent experience. For me this fragrance expresses sensuality, confidence and self-assurance. It has that je ne sais quoi that draws people closer. Lancome Idole L’Intense is a new 2020 launch of Eau de Parfum Intense created by Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina-Baez and Nadege le Garlantezec.

Very pretty, fresh & clean with great longevity and silliage. This is a very non offensive, safe fragrance for most all situations. A little goes a long way which was very unexpected for such a fresh fragrance. However, I’ve yet to have a Lancôme perfume that didn’t perform well. Idole is a light yet well performing edp. My best friend owns this and it smells wonderful on her, but it wasn’t for me.

Rose and musk are two of my favorite things, and they are blended really well in this perfume. I blind bought a travel spray of this a while back based on the reviews written here (thanks, guys!). @imilena is spot on in that it doesn’t last very long on me (2-3 Estee Lauder makeup hours…while that isn’t great, it’s longer than many others have). Not sure where they hid all those varieties of roses. This is a generic mainstream clean floral. Idôle is work-appropriate, and would make a good spring/summer wedding-guest fragrance as well.

That’s really dumb, it always looks untidy. That sounds banal, but I must say that it bothers me so that I would not buy the fragrance again just for that reason… L’Absolu Rouge ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep coral-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good color coverage in a single layer, but it wasn’t buildable without the product clumping up on itself.

Its a beautiful fresh rose, a hint of bergamot and pear, and musky vanilla in the dry down. It is a crowd pleaser because I get a lot of complement with this. It’s very fresh yet slightly sweet , floral freshly cut roses and bergamoty. Feminine powdery floral fragrance with good performance, i find it to be on the mature side-suits women rather than girls or teenagers. All occasions scent, it is not unique or groundbreaking, beautiful nonetheless. Not a repurchase as I am tired of this scent profile.

From a distance it still smells great but close to my nose it feels very very harsh and chemical. I am glad I only got the 30 ml bottle. I’d say that Lancome’s “Idole” is the more modern version of its “Miracle” perfume from 2000. You know, that easy to wear, clean musky-floral department store perfume with a hint of fruitiness? If you take “Miracle” and tone down on the lychee, you’d get “Idole.” Not much to write home about, honestly, but I do find myself reaching for it and enjoying it.

When I first smelled this as a sample, I realised (after the dry-down) that this was the rose perfume that I was looking for. I don’t know why folks are saying it’s too sweet to be a chypre, I think it is a dry, crisp fresh pear rose, slightly peppery fragrance! I’m delighted that there was no patchouli note those are way overdone. I had to have a full bottle, lucky me I found a reasonable price 2.5 oz on Ebay.. Just make sure the frag cools down a bit before spraying it on..

Just damn – because I knew it was likely I was going to want a full bottle of it immediately. The notes on this are so harmonious together, a symphony for the nose. Weirdly, I do understand why people think of it like Givenchy Irresistible – both do have that pear and the rose notes. I don’t think it smells like Givenchy Irresistible, but I do enjoy both of them.

I sense it as a perfect fragrance to be worn all year round, throughout the day or evening. I love the elegance and chic of Idole L’Intense highlighted through the chypre structure. It is so well balanced between the woody base and floral heart. It’s such a warm , woody fragrance with a sensual touch. Its sophisticated, softly deep, clean and fresh without being citrusy…to me the drydown its a better bvlgary rose edp.
