If accurate, that’s pricey compared with iRobot’s Roomba and competing products. Dyson’s website says the 360 Eye has, “Twice the suction of any robot vacuum” with the caveat that, “Suction testing based on ASTM F558, dust-loaded irobot vacuum cleaner against robot market.” I was impressed with the 360 Eye’s tread-like wheels, though; they raise up when needed so the vacuum could travel over large power cords and transitions between hardwood floors and carpet.
Keep up basic maintenance to make sure you’re not accused of mistreating the thing should something go wrong. Get the location of the dock wrong, or have a door at the wrong angle so that there’s only a small gap between it and furniture, and the 360 Heurist can miss out entire areas of your home. For me, the initial position of the dock meant that the 360 bissell crosswave cordless Heurist became confused and wouldn’t venture outside of the lounge. Thanks to the motorised brush that runs the entire width of the vacuum cleaner, you get full suction power right up to the edges of rooms, doing away with the need for side-sweeping brushes. Device can’t find it’s way home – When the battery starts to run out of juice the bissell crosswave cordless vacuum is supposed to return automatically to its charging base. It works fine most of the time, but I often find a rogue robot vacuum stranded in the middle of the house because it couldn’t find it’s way home. All robot vacuums will try to pick up pet hair but, as with other types of dirt, models with higher suction will generally do a better job. There’s also quite a disparity in how easily hair gets tangled in a vacuum’s rollers and sweepers, which will eventually cause a drop in performance as a whole. For those who have the space, the time you spend with the Dyson 360 Heurist will prove worth it in the long run in terms of the quality of clean and the level of suction you get. Once up and running, the only areas of your home that the vacuum will struggle to reach are the corners of rooms.
