Both of them are pretty tall, with a waterproof exterior and a soft and warm interior. But it is super comfortable and it is lined with moisture-wicking ugg classic wool. So, I think that Sorel has a slight advantage here, simply because you can get Sorel boots with a removable EVA footbed.
It’s not as simple as “oh, go with XX if you want the best grip and traction”. Both of these brands put great outsoles in their boots that are lightweight, durable, flexible, and not slippery. I can also tell you that Sorel boots are all seam-sealed, meaning that it is virtually impossible for water to penetrate the inside of the boot. Because ugg classic of that, I definitely think they are the better option for hiking, skiing, and just any activities that include walking in knee-deep snow. They will perform better, and they will keep your feet warm no matter what. These suede boots are made of leathery soft suede and cozy shearling interior, with a cozy fit perfect for cold weather. Admittedly, Sorels look way better now than they ever have, but there’s still that issue of the laces. These boots are clunky, and the part where the plastic meets the fabric isn’t very flexible, so it can chafe your foot. But, they’re warm, keep your feet dry and have good grip, making them the perfect boot for the ski hill. And if you get the kind without laces, well, Bob’s your uncle!
