At times, only one section of the roller could be soaked with formula. The 2554A is a lot like a lawnmower in this regard, at least by how it’s started. It must be primed before activating by pressing the switch at the vacuum’s top. This is to siphon the cleaning formula to the roller, which is what’s used to mop the floor. The battery lasts upwards of 30 minutes, it weighs just 10 pounds, and it’s pretty easy to clean.
This is much easier to maneuver and is much more quiet. However the battery life keeps me from cleaning more than a room at a time. Also, I think it’s a little less powerful than the corded version but that was not a surprise. You can only do one wet and dry pass and with a little less power than the corded it really makes it harder to achieve efficient cleaning. Running the cleaner through on vacuum mode, it picked up most of it when running the head along the skirting. Bissell says that the edge performance is 60% better here than on the CrossWave Cordless – and it would appear so; there was just a small trace of dirt left to be collected. Though it has the self cleaning function, it cleans the brush and suction path, you still have to clean the dirty water tank, stainer, filter, screen, tray. According to Bissell, the Max has improved edge cleaning to pick up dust, pet hair, debris that gathers along baseboards and in corners.
