It uses two inlet ports and one outlet port to circulate all the water effectively. We filled our pool with pond water, and the water was crystal clear after only a few 12-hour filtration cycles. The filter uses Intex’s Hydro Aeration Technology, which pumps air into the water during filtering and helps to remove sediment and other small debris.
Having never looked after a pool before I had trouble keeping it clean the first season but then I spoke to my local pool shop. 2 cups of clorine every 2 days and clean the filter cartridge every weekas a ruff guide . Make a whirlpool every now and then and when it settles all the bottom dirt clumps in the middle of the pool and use your garden hose as a vaccum to suck it out. My pool stayed crystal clear all season with the standard kit it ca… I also cannot stress enough that Intex metal-frame pools must be set-up on ground that is extremely level and that attaining this may require extra work and costs.
There are large drain plugs to drain the pool quickly. Disassembly of the frame is not too difficult, as all the pieces snap together and come apart quickly. Just make sure each piece is labeled so you can reassemble it with ease. All components, especially the hoses and filtration unit, should be stored inside where they will not freeze.
Those are nice, they don’t offer the best stability, so we decided to upgrade a bit. There are a lot of parts involved in putting these pools together. It can be a little overwhelming when you first see them all, so make sure you have a buddy or two there to help. The first thing to do is visit the Intex website and watch the instructional video for your pool. Intex ships new pools with an instructional DVD, but we didn’t have a DVD player on hand.

If you are trying to dislodge the first horizontal bar , then try raising the vertical bars at an angle until you can slide one end of the horizontal bar out. It is a tricky thing to do – but once the first one is out, the rest of the bars are easy. A sump pump may be necessary to drain the final few inches of water. Once the pool has begun to clear, remove the filter and spray it with a hose to remove the DE.
You’ll want to upgrade the pump to keep maintenance down to a minimum. These pools don’t have to be taken down during the winter. They can be partially drained to allow ice to expand, and intex frame pool winterized. However, if you live in a frigid climate, you may want to take it down and put it in storage somewhere. It sucks debris off the top of the pool and keeps it nice and clean.
Most people know before purchasing a pool that there is a certain amount of maintenance required to keep one running at its best. All you have to do is run the pump eight hours a day and add chlorine. The larger pools require the same maintenance as any other family-sized pool.
