Had I not been so willing, I would have let cynicism prevail when Thermomix first came into my old-fashioned hands-on kitchen. At that time, I was not a gadget person, nor was I shopping for an appliance. But in a home trial of this kitchen machine I quickly came to realize that the Thermomix’s hidden value lies in something that is greater than the sum of its parts. Not sure if we eat enough soup to justify the cuisinart product – though if I didn’t have a tmx I’d have been interested in looking at it. I used to keep it on high for 9 mins, then the rest of 30 mins on medium. No matter what vegetable I used it was always ready after 30 minutes. The Plus produced a delectable butternut squash soup which was full of flavour and moisture. Although it should be commended on its ability to deliver a great soup, we did find residue became easily trapped below the blades which made it a little harder to clean.
