Coffee Maker Review

This machine is certainly simple and convenient, but there are many other coffee makers in the same price range that have more features and functionality. Anyone who has ever taken a stroll through the appliance section in any store knows the Cuisinart Coffee name Keurig. Keurig is known as a revolutionary brand dedicated to making a cup of coffee easy, simple, and quick to obtain. Co-creators John Sylvan and Peter Dragone began the company by experimenting with a single-serve coffee machine.

However, it doesn’t come with a filter or a grinder, which might be a turn-off for coffee aficionados who prefer freshly ground coffee every morning. The machine has a strong brew button for a stronger flavor. Do you enjoy delicious coffee but find yourself limited on space? You may feel like you’re the only person in the world who needs a miniature yet stylish coffee machine, but trust us when we say you’re not alone. Most notably the Mini Plus will give you a removable water reservoir .

Keurig K-Mini

The K-Mini was Keurig’s most affordable coffee maker before it released the K-Express Essentials. That machine has a 36oz removable water tank and a refined design. You can read our comprehensive K-Express review here. The K-Mini Plus has a pod storage container, which the K-Mini lacks.

Small and compact – Thismeans that the machine is easy to move and set up anywhere. While this is a highly compact model, it’s bigger than the Mini. Simple buttons – Similar to the k mini, the control buttons are also located at the top of the device and are perfectly labeled making them easy to understand. This makes the operation of the device a walk in the park. The buttons also have led backlights enabling them to be easily visible when operating the machine in the dark.

This clip on the rear of the unit is particularly tricky to pop off, but popped off when the other chassis clips were all removed and held open, while pulling it backwards. Repeat speedReflects how quickly the machine produces a second cup. The Plus is part of the Coffee Makers test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Single-Serve Coffee Makers models like the K-Mini Plus are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below. Reflects how quickly the machine produces a second cup.

By sliding out the removable drip tray, you can get up to 7 inches of clearance beneath the brew spout. Place your mug under the spout, removing the drip tray if necessary. Press the brew button and wait for your coffee to flow into your mug. Open the top of the machine and place your K-Cup inside. From here, you can choose to use the strong brew button or not. The idea of a single-serve may be appealing to someone who lives alone, but you can’t make big batches of coffee at once to accommodate more people.

You can remove the reservoir for easy filling on the Plus, while the original is locked onto the machine. This machine includes pod storage that slides right into your brewer to hold nine of your favorite K-Cups when you’re not using it. It fits seamlessly under the spout to save you even more counter space. The removable water reservoir can be refilled at the sink. You also get a “strong brew” option that is not available on the basic K-Mini. When you press the strong button the brew flow is slower resulting in a longer brew cycle but a more complete extraction – dare I say strong or bold.

The water reservoir and drip tray can be taken out and cleaned separately, allowing you to wipe down the rest of the unit with a cloth. The whole process is much simpler than it was before. While these two coffee makers may look almost identical, and both are Keurig Mini models, they are far from the same. The Keurig Mini Plus comes with enough added features to make up Cuisinart Coffee for the difference in price. Join us in todays review as we take a deep dive into the features, brew quality, ease of use and maintenance of Keurig’s popular K Mini and K Mini Plus coffee makers. To brew your coffee, you need to pour water into the tank anywhere between the two levels, and then the machine will brew the coffee with whatever volume of water you’ve added.
