The Beats have a more neutral sound profile, especially in the mid-range, while still sounding exciting. Their ANC feature blocks more noise than the Skullcandy’s and the provided case is better. On the other hand, the Skullcandy can connect to two devices, and their bass isn’t as prone to inconsistencies as the Beats. There have been a few user reports that after updating the headphones to firmware update 2.4.4, the headphones make a clicking noise in the left ear cup while in idle mode .
This means the headphones constantly sample the environment around you and increase or decrease the noise cancellation based on what it detects. Although we’ve seen this concept before, it’s pretty awesome Beats finally incorporated it. This is a pretty cool feature not available with the Solo3s. The beats solo pro wireless Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones have adaptive noise cancellation, which means that external noise is actively blocked. If you do choose to let some sound in (maybe if you overhear some particularly juicy gossip?) you can toggle into transparency mode. This headphones deal may not last long, and the Beats could return to their original price at any time.
They can also connect simultaneously to two devices and can be used wired when the battery is dead, which the Beats can’t do. These headphones come with a detachable 1/8″ TRRS cable that has an in-line remote microphone. They also come with a micro-USB to USB-A cable for recharging the headphones. These headphones are very prone to inconsistencies in treble delivery and are sensitive to fit and positioning. Our results represent the average response, and your experience may vary.
Bottom line, the Solo3 headphones offer insane battery life. Bose QuietComfort 35 II, and rated them the best noise-canceling headphones we’ve ever tested. They cost roughly the same as the Studio3 Wireless, at $349, and offer far superior noise-canceling and sound quality. Their battery life is also similar, lasting 18 hours at moderate volume. The design is a more durable plastic build, with greater flexibility and comfortable earcups that rotate 90 degrees. All-in-all, for the same price, we’d choose the Bose QuietComfort 35 IIs any day of the week.
Beats Studio3 has a noise cancellation function and if you are an IOS user, this device is for you. The Studio 3 headphones also win out when it comes to audio quality. Both offer pretty good sound but at the end of the day if we had to choose one it would be the Studio3s.
This might be the first time in TMS history, that we had to go to a retail store, track down a pair of headphones, and retest them to make sure we weren’t losing our minds – or our hearing. We tested two other pairs of Studio3 Wireless, and one other pair of Solo3 Wireless, just to beats flex review double check that we weren’t missing something. And, without one shred of a doubt, we can say that our conclusion was the same. These are the worst pair of headphones we have ever tested in this price-range.
