Sun Joe SPX3000-MAX Electric Pressure Washer 2800-PSI MAX 1 30 GPM High Performance Brushless Induction Motor

Fortunately, manufacturing companies have developed better tools for cleaning over the years. Sun Joe says their mission is to make reliable, yet affordable tools. While they don’t have many pressure washers, the continued popularity of their few models proves the brand holds true to their principles. The garden hose, high pressure hose and power cord are all connected on different sides. This makes movement a little awkward and can easily cause you to trip if you’re not careful.

For the SPX3000 XTREAM, this is achieved via a foam cannon attachment, whereas the SPX3000 uses a dual detergent tank system. Some nice features of this unit were that the power cord was adequate. Overall, I don’t really think these issues rate as serious problems. One design flaw is that the garden hose connects to the front and the pressure hose to the back. So you really have to have it side-on to the work you’re doing.

You better find a way to store the hose because the unit can only hold the wand. The electric cord is almost too long for the unit, so it tends to hang awkwardly, which is not aesthetically pleasing, to say the least. Its setup is only for light to medium cleaning, while its cleaning power is nothing to write home about. The SPX3000 XTREAM was released in 2020 as an updated version of the original model. Visually, not much has changed, but the XTREAM features a more efficient motor (13 amps instead of 14.5), more pressure and a foam cannon in place of the dual tank detergent system.

This metric is essentially a measure of how much power your electric pressure washer produces. Generally, the most common reason for a Sun Joe pressure washer pulsating is a lower water supply, a kink in the hose, or blockage in the inlet filter. Other reasons are air leakage or air trapped in the pump in the machine. A worn-out or clogged nozzle, a problem with the unloader valve. Or another reason why there is less water going through the machines than expected.

The Sun Joe SPX3000 is an outstanding pressure washer—as long as you go into it with reasonable expectations. This puts the model squarely in the medium-duty range, making it perfect for small jobs, whether outdoor furniture or vehicles like cars and bikes. You can even do driveways, decks, and patios if they are small. With all of this said, if you have bigger jobs or think you will be cleaning more frequently we highly recommend moving up to a gas pressure washer. We like everything about the SPX3000 except the cord storage. You can see in the picture below that there is one plastic hook integrated into the side of the pressure washer.

The Sun Joe comes with a plastic garden hose connector already supplied. It’s cheap, nasty, leaks straight away, and blows right off the unit. Or, even better, buy a Gardena quick connect coupling for about $3.50 from your local hardware store. We tested most competitors to the Sun Joe SPX3000, and you can read more about them below. To be honest, the Sun Joe wasn’t our first choice (the name, for a start, didn’t offer a lot of confidence), but it was the only pressure washer to back themselves with a two-year warranty. Price was right at $139, and it was ahead of the others at 1.76gpm (head down further where I explain what GPM is and why it’s so critical in your decision to buy a pressure cleaner).

These are common because they get the job done at a low cost, but they tend to become less reliable over time as you put more hours on them . Checkout The Best Electric Pressure Washer for a detailed review of all the top electric pressure washers. If your electric pressure washer is still producing pulsating pressure, you may have a problem with the unloader valve. The unloader valve diverts the water flow in the pressure washer causing the water to flow back in a loop to the pump. If the unloader valve is not working correctly, the pressure washer can result in the pulsation of the water pressure.

Sadly, the 3001 has the hose reel at the top of the piece of light equipment, so most pulls on it are going to topple it over. Frankly, this is pretty useless when pressure washing, but is nice for storage. Right next to the machine was a different story — the SPX3000 emitted 83.8 decibels. This is louder than most electric models in our Champion Power Equipment review and almost as high as one of the gas-powered models. However, unlike a gas-powered model, the SunJoe is silent unless the trigger is depressed. We also measured the PSI in between the end of the high-pressure hose and the trigger for each unit, then measured the flow in gallons per minute in order to calculate cleaning units .

For more alternatives or for help choosing, read our guide to the best pressure washers. Despite its entry-level components, it’s surprisingly powerful thanks to an unusually high flow rate of 1.76 GPM. It’s on par with other electric units when comparing pressure , but it’s pumping nearly 50% more water, which boosts overall cleaning power. The SPX3000 is an average electric pressure washer when it comes to build quality. Almost everything is made of plastic, and on the inside, it’s using a universal motor with a wobble pump.
