I have to say, overall, I was impressed with what a good cooking performance the Weber Q 2200 offers up. I don’t know if the complaint is the right word, but I would contend the Traveler is slightly less portable than the brand would have you believe. It’s heavier than any other portable grill I’ve tested and I would categorize the Traveler as a semi-portable grill and not a truly portable grill. There’s just one knob to control the fuel output and while the temp did drop when I lowered it, it was difficult to precisely control the temp one way or the other.

That was hot enough for my needs, so I put my burger on the grill and let it cook. The meat was cooked to perfection in around 10 minutes, and I was really impressed at the heat put out by the grill’s 12,000 BTU burner. Coming to the cooking capacity, it has a total space of 280 square inches with the main burner providing BTU-per-hour. This ensures that your grill reaches a temperature of 550-degree in under 10 minutes.

The biggest differences between these grills are price, styling, construction and portability. Both of the grills get hot enough for serious searing.
