Power and the Engineer

Westinghouse clearly had its top engineers design this unit; from top to bottom, this pressure washer is packed with features. The Briggs & Stratton has a 35-foot power cord, which, actually, is one of our few complaints. With the 25-foot inlet hose in tandem, we found it to be cumbersome to keep them from tangling every time we wheeled westinghouse pressure washers the pressure washer to a different spot. The pistol has an easily accessible lock and trigger release, but the connector for the inlet hose is too close to the trigger and was tricky to secure. Excellent cleaning power, high quality components, and a well-engineered motor made this pressure washer a great pick for most home owners.

If you are carrying the pressure washer with you on camping trips in your trailer or RV, you can simply detach the wheels. This will further reduce the size of the already compact ePX3000, and it can easily fit into a cargo slide on your RV. It also turns out that 5 gallons doesn’t get you too far with a pressure washer. In fact, it got us only about five minutes of cleaning time, so we had to refill the bag twice while we were cleaning the side of a shed. If you want to use the bag for anything but the smallest cleaning jobs, a nearby hose is a necessity because the bag will need constant refilling. So technically this washer can untether you from a hose—but long enough only for the quickest and most basic cleaning.

First, the soap dispenser (which you use in conjunction with a low-pressure soap nozzle) is an odd misstep in a pressure washer that seems so devoted to convenience. One of the cars was covered in blobs of pine sap, which is tenacious in its stickiness and potentially damaging to the paint. Some of the patio furniture was ancient and hadn’t been cleaned in at least a decade. In 2020 and 2021, we did additional rounds of testing, which included, among other things, cleaning years of caked-on cow manure off an old, well-used Ford tractor.

This is more than enough for any homeowner looking for a powerful machine to clean months or even years of dirt from the driveway, patio, swimming pool and other outdoor equipment. This is like the amount of water pressure or the amount of force at which the water hits your pavement or how many times the machine multiplies the pressure westinghouse pressure washers of the water coming from your garden hose. Talking about pressure washers, there’re two technical specs you should watch out for when making your choice. The first is pressure measured in PSI short for Pounds Per Square Inch. Then, from 12 inches away, we sprayed each block to see if the unit had enough power to chip away paint.

I don’t recommend you use the red nozzle (0°) unless you’re doing stonework or stripping paint. The black tip is for soap application, so you can use it for cleaning windows and vehicles. As mentioned in the user manual, you only want to use thin soap (the kind with water-like consistency). Any soap that is too thick or heavy will clog the nozzle of your ePX3000’s built-in detergent bottle.

He thoroughly enjoys discovering the best, whether it’s ingredients or equipment, and finding products that can stand the rigors of daily use. In addition to “lab-testing” these washers, we also needed to put them up against real-world cleaning tests. We were lucky enough to have neighbors that volunteered their backyards for this because we simply didn’t have enough grime and buildup to clean just our own things. The AR Blue – AR383 was the first machine we tested, and it was an interesting way to start.

One is for normal, high-pressure cleaning and the second is a low-pressure mode, likely for just pre-soaking areas. You activate by pulling the trigger twice and holding on the second pull, although just like the other electric models, this can take some experimenting to figure out. Surprisingly, the water supply connection on this unit is significantly higher-quality than the three other electric models we tested. The others had noticeably poorer quality connections, lower-quality materials and more wobbly knobs.

Customers were pleasantly surprised by this pressure washer’s capabilities, especially considering its affordable price and lightweight build. Critics of this product had issues with the electric motor breaking down quickly. A narrower nozzle will concentrate all the water into a smaller area, resulting in more force. A wider nozzle will spread out the water over a larger area, reducing force but increasing coverage.
