7 BBQ Cooking Demo on Weber Q1200 and Q2200 YouTube Weber recipes, Cooking, Weber q recipes

The Q 2200 is powered by liquid propane, and I used disposable 1-pound canisters that were hanging around my basement. Like any gas grill, the weber q 2200 needs to be cleaned after each use, but it’s incredibly easy to do. Once the grill cooled down a bit after cooking, I used my wire brush to clean food and grease off the grates. Everything came off the porcelain-enameled cast iron easily, especially because the grates were still a bit warm.

In fact, some of its weight can actually be forgiven due to how well constructed this gas grill is. To begin with, the main structure is made from heat resistant reinforced nylon. Then, you have the cast aluminum lid that holds up just as well. I also like the side tables – they are high quality and are perfectly designed to hold food.

This grill doesn’t have the much in the way of bells and whistles. That being said, the folding tables and the hood thermometer are portable bbq more than enough additions to this grill. I also like that there is a built in thermometer – a hood mounted thermometer, in fact.

Many some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so. The only other element that you have to be fastidious about cleaning is the drip pan. However, even with frequent use, this only needs to be emptied and cleaned out occasionally. To make this job even simpler, I like to line the tray with aluminum foil.

The meat was cooked to perfection in around 10 minutes, and I was really impressed at the heat put out by the grill’s 12,000 BTU burner. These two grills are larger than the Q1000 series but retain their portability. The larger size means not only more grilling space but also a taller lid. This tabletop grill gives you many more cooking options, such as roasts, ribs, even whole chickens, and smaller turkeys. Indeed a strong combination of portability and full-size grill cooking. The major difference between these models is that the Q1200 has a thermometer built into the grill lid. The Q1200 also comes with an electronic ignition compared to the 1000’s clicky push button.

In case you think that this is a trivial feature, it isn’t one that is available with many larger models. At the same time, it saves you both money and hassle in having to buy third party side tables for outdoor grilling. Both of these grills also work like big barbecues.

As with all the Q’s, they are easy to clean with their smooth lines and removable drip pan. Today I want to compare all the models you can choose from in the portable bbq Series. Weber Q grills are some of my favorite portable grills, but there are quite a few differences between them.

There is a griddle plate available that will turn half of your grill into a griddle. It’s great for those who like to cook breakfast or want to whip up some caramelized onions or bacon for burgers. The Q1200 tends to run hot, even on its lowest setting, which is perfect for direct grilling. For those of you who live to grill with indirect heat, it isn’t done well on a unit with a single burner. If indirect cooking is necessary, Weber suggests is that you use a grill basket to create a little more distance from the flame. It uses small, disposable 14oz or 16oz propane tanks for fuel.
