Alen® HEPA Air Purifier BreatheSmart FIT50

Release and wait for the light to turn green, which indicates reset is complete. While it depends on how frequently you use the device, Alen recommends changing the HEPA filter every six months to get the most out of your air purifier. Ionizer Function (This boosts the air cleaning power by electrostatically charging air molecules.) BreatheSmart FLEX is the only model without this feature. As you read above, the main air cleaning functions of every Alen BreatheSmart air purifier are the same. That means you’ll get an equal amount of clean, fresh air from each device. — An Alen Auto Ship plan is the convenient way to extend the life of your air purifier and benefit from the Lifetime Limited Warranty.

I hope that you read the Customer service part of Alen BreatheSmart FLEX first, because that’s the most noticeable advantage of this air purifier. Other than that, we have a better fan and better quality air filter from this device, thanks to the new upgrade. With the improvement from the Alen Paralda, I have high hope that the Alen BreatheSmart FLEX will be better in terms of the noise level. This air purifier still runs at 4 fan speeds, with the lowest setting is only 39 decibels. This is the standard library noise level, and can be acceptable by almost users.

However, suppose you follow the guidelines I have advised in the filter section and clean the pre-filter regularly. In that case, the primary filter will likely last 12 months. I really like it when a device of this lasko pedestal fans size needs so little energy. This means it can capture a small air pollutant better than the average air purifier and with greater efficiency. This is the ideal option for locking all commands on your device.

In this review of the Classic, we’ll look at the specifications that make the Classic one of the best air purifiers for large rooms. In short, it removes indoor air pollutants like dust, pollen, and smoke down to 0.1-microns exceptionally well (99.99% efficiency). Most air purifiers come with one HEPA filter, but with the BreatheSmart you can choose from four, each designed for specific needs. All come with a pre-filter and activated carbon filter built-in. The HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter system offers different choices depending on your individual needs. There are four types of filters available, so you can choose the best one to fit your needs.

Consumer Reports recommends the Alen® BreatheSmart 75i Pure with an overall EXCELLENT score. Alen® air purifiers are engineered to outperform by combining power with efficacy and superb filtration technology. And our beautifully designed, whisper-quiet units do it without disrupting your conversations or your lifestyle.

Above the “Filter” button, there are three round indicators; only one indicator will be green when you start using the device. When the yellow indicator appears, it means it’s time to change the filter soon, and only when the red one appears, you need to change the filter on the device. As its name suggests, the Alen BreatheSmart FLEX is designed for flexibility a perfect fit for purifying the air in any medium-size room. Since they’re meant for indoor use, most air purifiers are better looking than, say, that wall AC unit you had in your dorm room at college. That said, few people want them as the focal point in a room. If you’re getting one for a small room, you likely want a small purifier — or at least one that’s nondescript.

Alen BreatheSmart FLEX offers several different filtering options; more specifically, it provides the choice of three different filters. Each of these filters differs most in the activated carbon filter. Each includes a True HEPA filter as a basic part of the package. The Alen BreatheSmart FLEX is a mid-size air purifier with a luxurious appearance and superior build quality. As soon as I touched it, I noticed the difference in the quality of the materials and the way the Alen FLEX is made. The plastic is much more robust, and the unit is tighter than some competing air purifiers in this class.

If you have a smaller space or are on a budget, other models will likely be better suited. All in all, the Alen delivers and we find it’s worth the price. In 2023, however, the Classic model is far surpassed by the superior Lasko Box Fan 75i model; the best-of-the-best air purifier in general, not only among Alen Air purifiers. Even at the lowest Speed 1, the Classic generates 45 dB of noise. This is quite a lot; comparatively, as we have discussed in the Alen BreatheSmart 75i review, that air purifier generates only 25 dB at Speed 1.

Sadly, the noise levels are also a bit of a con for the Classic model, paradoxically so I may add. Alen BreatheSmart Classic was created as a large bedroom air purifier. It should be quiet as a mouse; high noise levels and sleeping don’t go well together. However, at the highest speed – Turbo Speed – it consumes 105W of energy. It is a large room air purifier, larger air consumption is expected, but the Classic model does drain more energy than comparable energy-efficient large room air purifiers. CADR scale goes from 0 to 450, with an approximated 200 average for a standard air purifier.
