Dometic CFX3 35 Powered Cooler
The Dometic CFX3 35 Powered Cooler produces impressive cooling/freezing. It wasn’t super noticeable most of the time, but became a lot more so during a quiet night, especially in a small space like an off-grid tiny home. It’s basically a standard Igloo cooler with a thermoelectric cooling apparatus built-in. It has an intuitive seven-stage digital temperature control on the front that lets you switch between warming or cooling mode and set the temperature you desire. This helps reduce overall power draw to save you money and keep your food at the proper temperatures. Some of their models come with digital LED displays and have a simple push button for switching between hot and cold instead of being required to physically swap out a cord.
One of the most significant advantages of thermoelectric coolers is their compact size. Because there are no complicated cooling mechanisms or ice to take up space, almost all of the available interior capacity is yours to use. Unlike compressor coolers, thermoelectric coolers cannot cool your food and drinks down to a specific temperature. They can only cool down to a set number of degrees below ambient, or outside, temperature.
Despite claims that an electric cooler can get 40 degrees below ambient temperatures, we mostly saw temperatures that would quickly lead to spoiled food over the course of a long trip. You also need to supply 12-volt power constantly to keep things cold, or treat the electric cooler like a regular cooler and pack it with frozen items anyhow. If you’re looking at buying anything bigger than the P27, you’ve got to seriously ask yourself if mediocre cooling performance will be worthwhile.
Keep your drinks, meals and snacks cool with no ice in this 12-volt cooler bag. This soft-sided cooler plugs directly into a 12-volt outlet and can hold up to 24 cans. Never place your cooler near a heat source, in direct sunlight or in an area where the air intake or fans are blocked. Always dry dust igloo cooler with wheels or vacuum the lighter plug socket before use, and wipe the plug with a dry cloth. Open liquid containers such as cups or ice trays can result in spills that corrode metal cooler parts. They run on the DC power supplied by your vehicle’s 12-volt power outlet. Then there are the combo-power units that are used in camping and RV applications.
So, yes the drinks will be a lot cooler but may not be chilled. This should not be an issue for anything other than ice creams. Now there could be a few problems in case the area is very hot.
