Know Your Scooter Mileage for the Razor Electric Scooters

If you’re less than the maximum load capacity, then give it a try. But a more important difference is the shock absorption and general performance of the scooters on not not-so-perfect surface. The front pneumatic tyre in both the E100 and E200 ensures good shock reduction. On an unpaved road, the rider will soon notice the E90’s lack of shock absorption. So, for their safety and to prevent accidental takeoffs, the makers have opted for the kick-start function. Maybe it just feels so strong because the scooter is quite light (26.5 pounds!) and so you expect it to be a weak little thing.

Up front we’ve got a pneumatic tire (with air), while the back rolls with a solid rubber tire. While we wouldn’t like to look forward to having to replace these tires (likely many years down the road), our tests showed that the combination made for a reasonably smooth experience. Granted, we’re not taking this scooter in any massive potholes, but anything under an inch was taken care of handily by the Razor E Prime III’s combination of tires. Children, the target rider for the Razor E100 Glow, will likely overlook many of this scooter’s drawbacks when presented with its easy-riding fun. The lack of lighting could be remedied with bicycle lights, or parents may just want to make sunset the curfew for riding.

It’s designed for kids to ride easily and safely, too, with hand breaks, a motor that maxes out at a speedy but not wild 10 miles per hour, and acceleration via twist grips at the handles. (Notably, twisting the grips also turns on LED lights on the deck.) It’ll hold kids ages 8 and up with a weight limit of 120 pounds. And here I am, three weeks later, telling you I’ve changed my mind. Razor’s E Prime III is a reliable, cheap(er) electric scooter option if you’re not 2 Fast 2 Furious and don’t have to go more than about 7 miles away.

When I was growing up, older kids got to speed around on mini-bikes powered by lawnmower engines, while I pedaled furiously on my Big Wheel. Thanks to cheap electronics, children now have access to a wealth of motor-driven vehicles, such as the Razor E100 Glow electric scooter. We know so – The E100 still has a lot to offer kids who like to dip their toes into the electric scooter area. It’s a simple model that has everything a younger person might need in moderation. Something that we think is great with this model is the handbrake which most kids are used to from their ordinary bikes and the twistgrip throttle is easy for them to handle. Razor, the scooter company that probably brings back memories of kicking and coasting down the block to your friend’s house for a playdate, is expanding its line of adult electric scooters.

It also gives them just enough ride time at 40 minutes per battery charge. The scooter has a 1,000-watt motor and chain drivetrain that helps it reach speeds of up to about 20 miles per hour, with a range of 16.6 miles. And with some solid 16-inch wheels with wide pneumatic tires, that ride will be very smooth, according to Razor. Other features included in the cargo scooter include bright LED headlight and tail and brake lights, and an onboard display for speed and battery life. The rechargeable battery gives your kid 40 minutes of continuous riding time, while the pneumatic tires and hand-operated rear brake give them a smooth ride and keep your child safe. If you’re concerned about balance, you might want to try a vehicle with three wheels, like the one in our Doohan iTank review.

The Icon’s front headlight is mounted pretty low to the ground — just above the front wheel — so it provides some, but not great, visibility in darker conditions. I did like the rear brake lights, which are nicely integrated into the rear of the Icon’s frame. A small red LED display on the right handlebar shows your speed and battery life, and it has two buttons to turn the scooter on and off, and to activate its head and tail lights. Among the best electric scooters, it’s definitely a standout compared to its peers.

The foot deck of the E100 is 7.75″ wide, which is plenty of space for riders maxing out at 120 lbs. The E200 and E300 both have fuller decks for larger riders. Electric scooters are more expensive than traditional scooters because they have motors and large batteries. Be aware, however, that they are still basically toys and Razor is not a luxury brand. We’ve had our own issues with our E100 (keep reading!) and we’ve heard lots of stories of scooters that just stop working or never work out of the box. To charge this scooter, you’ll have to find the plug under the base, move the cover aside, and plug in.

The chain-driven wheel is powered by a high torque 100-watt motor that provides up to 40 minutes of continuous use at speeds up to 10 mph. The Razor E100 is a pretty sweet, smooth ride for younger kids that are jumping at the chance to ride an electric scooter. With a front air tire, it rolls more smoothly than the E90 which has a polyurethane front wheel, but not as smooth as the E200 which has a front and rear air tire. razor electric scooter We do love the added safety of the kick-start motor that requires a child to push off and be moving at 3 mph before the motor kicks in. The Razor E200 electric scooter has all the features that parents want and everything that kids crave in a scooter. The all-steel frame and fork make this ride strong and durable to the point that your child will probably outgrow this scooter before it has any structural problems.
