Dyson says this new model can fit under a 99 mm (3.9 inch) tall gap, which is right in line with the normal height of a Roomba. It’s also D-shaped now, like a Neato vac or high-end Roomba, which allows for a wider coverage path and to really get into those corners. An alternate version bissell crosswave cordless called the Dyson Purifier HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde will also be available, designed for shared, commercial spaces. Prices for either model haven’t been confirmed, but Dyson currently lists its formaldehyde-treating purifiers(opens in a new tab) between $689.99 and $939.99.
On the hind side, however, it lacks elusive features, self-emptying for instance. With this level of suction, the 360 Vis Nav ensures a thorough cleaning, leaving no dirt or debris behind. The Dyson Submarine is actually a wet roller head attachment that features two water tanks — one for clean water and one for dirty water — lead by a motor-driven microfiber brush that goes after spills, stains, and small debris on hard floors. The Submarine cleaning head will be available with the new V15s Detect Submarine vacuum, but hasn’t yet been cleared to work with existing Dyson vacuums. While this is all very important stuff for any robot vacuum of note, the other major change to the 360 Vis Nav is its design.
Unlike robot vacuums, Dyson’s only real competition in the upright cordless vacuum realm is…Dyson. However, the brand continues to find ways to one-up itself — this time, the one-up is a mop. Its Hyperdymium motor claims to deliver six times the suction of any other robot vacuum, while a much-improved 360-degree vision system means this machine can create an accurate map of your home and even zone off certain areas for cleaning or to be left well alone. In other words, your new pup, vintage furniture, and other breakables can rest easy in its company. Dyson says the 360 Vis Nav brush bar has a triple action effect, combining nylon for hard floors, anti-static carbon fiber filaments for dust and nylon bristles for carpet surfaces. I was mentioning before an even more interesting feature of the Dyson Vis Nav, so let’s take a look at it.
But despite those big claims about suction power, I’ll remain sceptical until I see the proof in my carpets. That motor spins at up to 110,000rpm to deliver an impressive sweep across your floors. That’s quite an upgrade from the 78,000rpm produced on the Dyson 360 Heurist from 2020, which our review praised for its “‘exceptional cleaning power”. The new Dyson 360 Vis Nav builds on the considerable talents of its predecessor, the 360 Heurist, and adds some useful upgrades. It’s also curiously missing some features, including self-emptying and self-cleaning, which we’ve come to expect from these high-ticket devices.
