There are only a few guy out points, so this is a typical summer camping tent for mild weather conditions and without much rain and wind. While both Coleman and Ozark Trail are highly inexpensive family camping tents, this is where Ozark Trail outshines Coleman. While I paid between $250 to $350 for both my 10-Person Coleman Tents, I paid only about $100 for the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent, which is less than half the price of my Coleman tents.

Their gear is practical, certainly not in the same league as more technical equipment, but it works.
If you want the windows open for extra airflow and to really be immersed in nature, they all have awnings so that you can leave open even if it’s raining outside. With a built-in E-port, you can easily run your electrical cords inside the tent so that you have power for your favorite devices. For a 10-person tent, I would expect the tent to have at least 2 doors, 1 on each opposite wall of the tent, and both my WeatherMaster 10-Person Tent and my Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent have 2 doors ozark trail chair each. The three-room cabin is definitely one of Ozark Trail’s more expensive models though, so if you’re shopping on a budget, there are plenty of other models worth considering. The Clip & Camp dome is particularly affordable, and also happens to be one of the most dependable models the brand currently makes. The main thing to know going into an Ozark Trail purchase is that you need to do your due diligence not to overstress the materials because a heavy hand can absolutely damage them.

As with any piece of gear, the number one durability factor is the amount of care that you’re willing to put into use, and more importantly, stowing your tent. Although polyester is fairly resistant to mold, my biggest area of concern with the tent is figuring out a good way to dry it properly before forgetting about it in your garage. The recent addition of a rear awning has done a lot to mitigate the stuffiness, but still, it can feel pretty hot and humid when you have to batten down the hatches and have the entire gang with you. My best advice to deal with this is to try and set the tent up with the awning facing the wind. This will allow for a little more intentional airflow and help keep you dry from ozark cooler both the rain and accumulated internal moisture. In fact, with a little bit of seam sealer and an at-home DWR treatment, the tent performed much better in the rain than otherwise. All told, with some aftermarket work and careful staking, the tent will hold up in mildly unpleasant wet weather conditions. I still would not recommend it in extended rainfall or during storms.
