Ozark Trail 11-Person Instant curated on LTK

Not only are they user-friendly, but many are surprisingly easy to set up and built with sturdy enough materials that they’ll last for years of regular outdoor excursions. Looking for the ideal tent to pack on your next big family camping trip? Give this 10-person tent a try, and you won’t regret it! The tunnel-shaped tent gives you ample interior room—more than 217 square feet, with space enough for 4 queen-sized air beds—and the 78-inch peak height is comfortable for even taller campers. If you need a bit of privacy (for couples or parents), simply use the divider to partition the tent into 2 separate rooms. With a door at each end of the tunnel tent, you’ll never have to worry about stepping over your fellow sleepers on your way out or in.

You can even pitch the tent in full darkness thanks to the LED light. I have tried to use it at our local beach and when ever the wind gets to 7-10 mph off we go chasing the tarp and that leaves the screen dome uncovered and in blew the sand. Once we tried it at the lake wind came up, off comes the tarp that with a light rain everything got wet. Also ozark trail canopy using a ground cover under the tent (seems obvious to me) will help prevent water from coming in from the underside of the tent. If and when I buy a new tent, I will go with Ozark again, and will not buy it from walmart….if you watch a doc. Called “Walmart, the high cost of low prices” it will explain to you why the product there is so cheap.

Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top tents and shelters. This tent is ok…I bought with the money that I had saved up and I really wanted a cool looking tent. I think that this 35 dollar tent could outlast the expensive ones. Mine is red and black and the rainfly covers everything except for a tiny place to get in. I purchased this tent to take to music festivals and such, because it is like a small house. One day into a 3-day festival, I returned to camp to find both of the large poles snapped right in two.

For a group of sixteen—be it family, friends, or even just a festival crew—this is a tent you’ll absolutely love using time and time again. It’s beautifully sturdy, with steel poles that keep the freestanding tent both steady against the wind and easy to move should you need to. Plus, it’s well ventilated thanks to the six large windows and built-in roof mesh, so it should never grow too hot in the summer, even if it’s packed with sleepers. Tall users will love it—with 86 inches of headroom, you’ll never have to bend or stoop. It’s sized to fit two queen-sized air mattresses with plenty of space to spare, or 10 sleeping bags/pads side by side. Plus, thanks to the gear loft, you can store a lot of your stuff off the ground to increase sleeping space.

Thanks to the multi-positional rainfly, you can decide between maximum coverage against the rain, full ventilation/view of the night sky, or something in between. It is a 3-Season tent, but it’s at its most comfortable during the warmer spring and autumn months. You’ve got all the interior space you need, too—up to four queen beds can fit, and the tent can be divided into three separate rooms. Thanks to the four built-in interior pockets and ample floor space, you’ll never have trouble keeping your gear organized. And don’t worry so many people cooped up inside a tent will cause you to overheat.

I love tents and writing about them is my great pleasure. There are statements about 5 queen size beds used in this tent, and I do not think this is a serious statement. You can use them two for sure in the two side rooms and this is it. If you add the third in the central room, ozark tent then it will become impossible to get in and out so don’t even think about this. Some users found that there were quality control issues—one claimed their tent broke after the FIRST use, while others complained the carrying case handles tore just from the weight of the tent.

On the downside, there’s no porch or any significant awning to speak of, so all your gear will have to stay indoors. And prepare to deal with a bit of mud or dirt because you have to store your shoes/boots inside the tent. Take this tent to your next music festival or pitch it in your backyard—no matter where you use it, it’s guaranteed to deliver a truly unique camping experience.

Spacewise, this tent offers 250 square feet (23.2 m²) of the floor area. This is formally 1.55 m² per person so it can definitely accommodate the declared number of 15 people for sleeping on the floor, see the picture below. But the tent is without external storage space, and with so many people, this could work only at some summer festivals without lots of equipment and clothing. The tent is also cabin style with straightened and steep walls, and with the peak height of 84 inches (213 cm).

Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping. We’re looking at the packed size & weight of the tent to see if it’s easy to carry around with you. Obviously if you’re planning to camp only in hot & dry areas, disregard this ranking factor. The Coleman Instant 8 is spacious and the big mesh windows are perfect to let the air in.
