Weber Spirit II E-310 Review A Big Deal or A Regular Grill?

We were testing it side by side with other grills for reference and this was by far the easiest to move across both grass and concrete. Storage is one of the only problems with this grill. One is that the side tables don’t fold down for char broil performance storage. The other is that the side holder for propane is pretty small. We found that a propane tank 30lb or larger won’t fit, so will have to sit out on the patio. Like almost all grills, this grill is hand-clean in soapy-water only.

They had a gorgeous char on the outside but we succulent and tender on the inside, maintaining the right amount of moisture. There’s no bigger name in grilling than Weber, and there’s a reason the brand takes up the top three spots in our guide to the best grills. That said, I think Weber’s other- more complicated – models are blown out of the water by this grill.

With their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, Weber is addressing this issue. Spirit II is “iGrill3 Ready” with a mounting place on the right side shelf for an optional iGrill 3 digital thermometer. This Bluetooth device enables you to place one digital probe at the cooking Blackstone Adventure surface to dial up the correct oven temp, and one probe in your food to monitor internal meat temp. The concept is a big leap in the right direction. Surprisingly, however, there is no read out on the iGrill 3 itself. You need to use the app even when you’re standing at the grill.

Most grills have a mechanical igniter of either the push-button or rotary design. More convenient is a battery-operated electronic igniter, which usually ignites the gas on the first try. Some grills also have lighting holes, on the side of or beneath the grill, that can be used with a match should the igniter fail. Indicates whether the grill provides one ore more hooks to hang your grilling tools. While burners remain the grill’s most-replaced part, most are warranted for only 3 to 5 years.

The diffuser pops in place under the middle burner. Attention to detail such as this is one reason  the Weber name commands higher prices than many mass market brands. Weber’s price tag also includes quality construction and the best customer service from a manufacturer in the business, on call seven days a week from 7am to 9pm CST. This helps to catch drippings and increase food tastiness. It’s very job description forces it to be dirty every now and then.

There’s the folding side table, a fuel gauge, a tank that’s pretty easy to access, an open-cart design, and so much more. Indeed, this part of our Weber Spirit II E-310 review doesn’t automatically translate into the perfect grill. But, even you must admit that the thought of this many features is a tad exciting. If you grill regularly or you enjoy grilling on weeknights, when time is at a premium, you should invest in a gas grill. A good one costs $400 to $900, but it will serve you well for years. That’s more than twice the price of a quality charcoal grill, but if you prioritize speed and convenience, the higher price is worth paying.
