Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with PowerFins UZ155

We’ve put these models through their paces testing everything from battery life, to ease of charging, and ergonomics. We’ve run them through the gauntlet of tasks, everything from spills on hard surfaces to crumbs embedded in deep carpets to separate the wheat from the chaff. With DuoClean PowerFins, you’ll get continuous contact with all surfaces, digging deep into carpets, directly engaging hard floors, and picking up more dirt in every pass.

However, because this vacuum has an already impressive battery, the reduced battery life isn’t that big of a deal. Knowing where and what you’ll be cleaning is helpful when choosing a cordless vacuum, especially since Shark offers a large range of options. While we consider convenience when choosing our top vacuum picks, we also examine overall cleaning performance, noise, and allergen and dust management. In addition, no vacuum assessment would be complete without looking into how it performs on pet hair, along with considering service and reliability.

In terms of effectiveness, it captured all the hair and debris in our testing area in fewer than five passes. While the Navigator series is now one of Shark’s more basic lines in terms of advanced features, this model still has a removable dust bin and plenty of cord length for cleaning average-sized rooms. An 11-foot-long bissell crosswave cordless extension hose also makes it easy to clean drapes or steps without lugging the entire unit with you. Plus, accessories like the motorized brush, upholstery tool, and crevice nozzle can be used to deep clean specific areas of your home. The fully sealed system has a HEPA filter that locks in dander and allergens.

Shark has a diverse lineup of vacuums, and their naming convention can sometimes be confusing. In particular, the V11 offers most of what the V15 does at a much more palatable price point. For those for whom money is no object, though, we can’t recommend the cleaning capabilities of the Dyson V15 enough. Dyson’s V11 is a popular cordless vacuum, and it’s fair to say that in use it feels like a bit of a Rolls-Royce. The Dyson and Tineco models all have bin volumes of about 0.6 liter, which is fairly common across the category.

The vacuum also folds down brilliantly and those folding joints mean it’s easy to run it under furniture, too. When you’re done cleaning, there’s a docking station included and you can run a self-cleaning cycle to remove dirt, hair and debris from the vacuum, ready for its next use. On par with the most comprehensive vacuums out there, in terms of pure cleaning performance, but the price will put off many people.

However, we do tend to prefer the Shark ION F80 because of its impressive battery life. The Shark IONFlex ultralight cordless vacuum weighs in at 8.7 pounds and does well on both hard floors and carpeting. Like the ION F80, the IONFlex features DuoClean technology, which utilizes two brushrolls to effectively clean a variety of different surfaces. The brushead also lights up to illuminate small particles in the vacuum’s path.

However, its self-propelling feature makes it harder to control on high pile carpets. When shopping for a vacuum, the decision between a corded and cordless bissell crosswave cordless model depends on your specific needs and priorities. A corded vacuum offers an unlimited runtime and is a good choice for whole-house cleaning.

Cordless designs do bring with them their own set of issues, however, including battery life, weight and size. As with the company’s robot vacuums, the H7 provides a very complete package and represents solid value for money. That doesn’t mean it’s cheap, either, but it always felt like it was able to justify the price tag. The Bissell CrossWave is one of the best-selling cordless 2-in-1 cleaners, and it’s not hard to figure out why. A combination of great pricing and excellent performance make it one to consider. This way, you’re able to figure out if it’s the right device before popping it in your basket.
