Weber Spirit II E-210 GBS Gas Barbecue Black

Home chefs can use the wide, cast-iron cooking grates to prepare multiple courses simultaneously on the three stainless-steel burners while keeping their tongs and spices on the cooker’s two side tables. The grill’s folding left side table and the two wheels on its right legs also make it more than capable to move around a backyard. Aside from its superior cooking power, this grill has some wonderful features, which include a Bluetooth-enabled thermometer that will send alerts directly to your smartphone.

#7) Legs and Wheels – Another throwback feature is the wheel design. The left end of Spirit II series models do not feature wheels, while the right hand side have 2 large, heavy duty weber spirit 2 plastic wheels. The wheels allow the grill to be rolled along grass or other uneven surfaces with ease. Take the guesswork out of cooking with Weber’s iGrill Digital Thermometers.

The main burners pack a whopping 30,000 BTU-per-hour input. Even with that amount of heat, we experienced very few flare-ups—probably because of the flavorizer bars—which kept anything we were cooking from getting charred by accident. While the Weber Spirit II E-310 is Weber’s entry-level gas grill, it packs a lot of punch performance-wise and was our best-reviewed gas grill for putting gorgeous sear marks on burgers.

Performance is consistent and we always have perfectly cooked grilled food. For most items under 150 pounds the standard free shipping option will be parcel (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc). Having this flexibility allows us to provide the quickest turnaround to process and ship your order.

We’re not typically fans of cast iron grates because they overpower foods with intense conductive heat at the point of contact, creating the alternating bands of dark brown and pale tan known as sear marks. The ultimate goal is an evenly dark brown crust across the entire surface of the meat, which transforms dull, tan meat to a delicious flavorful crust thanks to the magical Maillard reaction. Our main complaint for just about every grill is the obligatory bi-metal dial thermometer in the hood that gives you a ballpark reading of what the temperature is high above the meat. Since we cook down on the grates, it’s always better to use your own digital thermometer and place a probe at the cooking surface. With their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, Weber is addressing this issue. Spirit II is “iGrill3 Ready” with a mounting place on the right side shelf for an optional iGrill 3 digital thermometer.

The other is that the side holder for propane is pretty small. We found that a propane tank 30lb or larger won’t fit, so will have to sit out on the patio. Like almost all grills, this grill is hand-clean in soapy-water only. Marks and grilled-on food were easy to remove but you’ll definitely need a scraper to get this done. Even better, you can see in the image above that the chicken fit within the round grill plate.

We followed the instructions, cleaning the grill plates and triangular elements, scraping everything down before removing the disposable drip tray. The halloumi caught a little, but not as badly on other barbecues we tested where it fused to the grill. The finished halloumi was delicious, among the best on test. The Weber came in a large box that needed two of us to lift it. It wasn’t as bad as other grills we’ve tested, but you might need a partner or a friend on hand to help you build it.

This Bluetooth device enables you to place one digital probe at the cooking surface to dial up the correct oven temp, and one probe in your food to monitor internal meat temp. Surprisingly, however, there is no read out on the iGrill 3 itself. You need to use the app even when you’re standing at the grill.

This model is compatible with Weber’s $100 iGrill 3 app-enabled temperature probe. Since the iGrill 3 costs an extra hundred bucks and is optional, I didn’t test it with the Spirit II. In theory, you connect it to the grill and can check in on the temperature of your food from your phone. The other grills we tested weber spirit 2 don’t offer any smart accessories, which sets the Weber apart. 3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions.

When I checked three-star reviews, a handful of users were saying that their grills arrived with missing screws or were damaged in transit. It’s yet to take off in the States but for the uninitiated it’s a delicious Greek sheep’s cheese that is unbelievably good on a grill. Not only does it taste good (I just caught myself daydreaming about it as I write), but because it’s cheese, it’s a really easy way to test any non-stick claims on a grill. Spirit II propane models are available in red, black, sapphire and ivory.
