Initially it’s a blast of pine, but that passes quickly, and then it’s straight up tobacco (to my nose, the wife says “pine”). I didn’t care for it at first, but with each successive wear, it’s wearing me down. I now find it intriguing and want to get to know it better. One spritz of this to the neck/chest lasts for a very long time.
Kind of interesting accord, but definitely not universally appealing. This is a divine, old time scent that lasts all day. It will make you smell sophisticated and full of class.
Putting on my quarter zip sweatshirt 2 days after I had taken it off I was immensely surprised to smell the PERFECT dry down of Polo. If there was 1 scent that I would want to smell like, regardless of day, time, season or circumstance, it would be this one. Ultra-hyper masculinity in a bottle. The handsome, fit, complete and versatile man. A traditional man, a loyal man, a good father and a loving husband. This is my absolute favorite winter fragrance.
Performance wise it is a beast for me. I find that applying some Vaseline on the area and then spraying helps longevity as well (good for your skin, too!). However, I’m youngish so my experience has been positive since most of my peers don’t remember or weren’t around for the 70s or 80s and haven’t smelled this. If anything this cologne gets the most positive reaction from younger women out of all my colognes.
Also, the presence of personal body funk (or the dreaded ‘older man smell’) can render this fragrance just a really ugly air pollutant. I’m sure encounters like this ralph lauren t shirt have turned more than a few people against Polo. I think men who have a strong natural smell to their person are better off with a fresher fragrance to wear.
This is deffo not an everyday perfume. To me it’s a special occasional one. You wear Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt it if you want to celebrate something. To me, it smelled like nothing else.
