Homeless Pet Clubs give students, civic leaders, and business owners a way to share their love of animals by promoting animal rescue, responsible pet ownership, adoption of shelter animals, and animal welfare. Provides clients with regular and prescription pet food, cat litter, and a variety of pet supplies. A total of 300 enrolled PAWS clients access the Pet Food Bank each month; of these, PAWS provides food delivery to 187 clients. The Pet Food Bank also serves approximately 25 people per month who are on our waitlist or are walk-in visitors. Feeding Pets of the Homeless® is the first and one of the few national nonprofits providing pet food and emergency veterinary care to pets that belong to homeless people.
At Fear Free®, our mission is to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety & stress in pets by inspiring and educating the people who care for them. Your pet’s behavior may change dramatically after a disaster, becoming aggressive or defensive. Be aware of their well being and protect them from hazards to ensure the safety of other people and animals. If you must evacuate with your pets write “EVACUATED” across the stickers so rescue workers don’t waste time looking for them. Know which hotels and motels along your evacuation route will accept pets in an emergency. Call ahead for reservations if you know you may need to evacuate.
