But Hypnose is far more refined and in depth. I get a powdery Iris and Violet vibe from this. I don’t know what Passiflora smells like and not sure they have a scent. My friend has a viney bush and don’t recall a fragrance from the flowers. I was a poor university student back in 2006 when the kind sales assistant gave me a sample of this.
I find nothing Oriental about this scent. It’s light and airy and fruity. Fragrances don’t necessarily need to simple or complicated and have nothing to do with people’s judgement or critiques. Hypnôse is one of the few sweet fragrances in my collection that I would’ve never laid my heart onto, but it changed with age growing. If you are looking for a vanilla that is not warm and cloying and is suitable for every season day and night,this perfume is for you. It stays linear and lasts and projects like crazy.
This is a beautiful, feminine, sweet yet fresh fragrance, and I always get compliments when I wear it. Longevity is amazing – this baby goes and goes all day long and into the night. Sillage is moderate Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR to heavy – it doesn’t fill a room, nor does it enter a room before you do, but it does radiate beautifully around you, about arm’s length. I bought this perfume this summer at a bargain price.
It’s safe and gentle, but even more importantly, it’s not a feared-by-everyone-mostly-without-scientific-reason paraben. As for the hair the hydration effect is also true there. Panthenol might make your hair softer, more elastic and helps to comb your hair more easily.
I got this one in a swap (thanks again tneequeenie!) and it has become my new favorite scent to wear in the evenings, after my bath. It’s so soothing and comforting to me! It has the magical quality about it of being able to transform my mood into a state of bliss, regardless of circumstance. I especially love wearing it around my boyfriend because the scent seems to match my mood whenever we’re snuggled up together. It has an ethereal vibe to it and at times, puts the image of dancing blue fairies in my mind. I think I could honestly wear this every night and not tire of it.
When I think of Ange ou Demon, it seems like it aged. Don’t get me wrong, I still like it, but this one doesn’t seem to age at all. In fact, I think if Lancome released it now, it would be a hit. It’s sweet without being strictly gourmand.
About 20 minutes in the vanilla settles and the jasmine and vetiver is nicely blended in. I’ve worn it for years and no matter how many perfumes I add to my collection, I keep coming back to this gem! In my opinion, anyone of any age could wear this scent at any time of the day in any weather, but I find it works with my skin best in Spring and Autumn. With that disclaimer out of the way, I must admit Hypnose is a beautiful creation. I would categorize this as simultaneously tropical and cozy.
I do find that it’s either a love or hate. Maybe it will perform better during cold weather, although it’s Estee Lauder makeup not warm here now. I will use it as a bedtime scent because it is cozy, comforting and so pretty.
And that’s when I remembered my wrist, so I sniffed it too…hellooooohoooo?! Oh yes…that Lilane…that initial floral scent that made me shy away at first seemed to have vanished…what remained was an elegant scent of gardenia with…jasmine? I love jasmine…but I smell the gardenia more out, I know the flower from my mother, she is a “green Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR thumb” as they say and this plant adorns your terrace. Later the smell becomes creamy with a touch of tart? I don’t know what it is, but it keeps this scent in balance, so that it doesn’t completely fall over into the flowery, sweet… It smells pleasantly good, doesn’t push itself loudly into the foreground and doesn’t annoy anybody.
