I just wish it lasted longer on me hours max. Otherwise, this would be a definite must have. Turns into a skinscent almost immediately.
CI or Iron Oxide is a super common colorant with the color black. A vegetable wax coming from the leaves of the Brazilian Estee Lauder makeup tropical palm tree, Copernicia cerifera. Similar to other waxes, it is used to stabilize and give body to products.
It is a juvenile and playful teen girl scent. It smells similar to Parma Violets candy, with vanilla and white florals, sort of reminiscent of fresh laundry. I do not sense a liquorice note, and I do not think it smells outdated, but it does smell nostalgic. I enjoy vanilla fragrances but find that some of them are too heavy, cloying and serious for day to day wear.
A lovely thing about this more light and airy than heavy vanilla is that it does not reduce itself into a thin amber or amber-patchouli drydown. To those who are not a huge fan of sweet perfumes but would like to use something sweet occassionally, I would say Hypnose is a decant-worth or miniature-worth perfume to keep. Lancôme Hypnose are my go-to fragrances when I don’t know what to choose out of my overwhelmingly large collection. The longevity is quite good on me -it can last up to 6 hours on me as a skin scent. I find that it lacks projection, but I wouldn’t want this scent to project much, anyway. This vanilla here is smooth, flowery with a woody tinge, “well behaved”, elegant, long-lasting and sunny due to the passion flower.
The longevity is about half a day. I tried multiple perfumes from Thierry Wasser, and I have to say that my nose and his just simply don’t agree. Hypnose is to me a cool and peaceful vanilla. That together with the fruity passion flower makes it creamy, feminine and bewitching Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR while still letting me rest and keep my sanity. This is a scent that I recognize when someone wearing it passes me by. I thought I was bored with Hypnose, but after using it again for the first time in about a year I feel like I want to wear it more often.
