As others say – how can you possibly say it’s a beginners drone with no obsticle avoidance?? I’m not sure whether it’s my PC, with a very fast connection speed, but several of those shots look stuttery to me. The footage captured is typically smooth and stable. DJI also claims this particular drone can withstand wind speeds up to 24mph, thanks in part to upgraded motors. I hadn’t flown a drone in probably two years (it’s not easy in New York City), but after my experience flying DJI’s newest foldable drone, the Mavic Air 2 while holed up in New Jersey, I want to do it every day. There have been multiple complaints that the drone switches off and fall while flying.
You have to watch carefully when flying the Mini, good advice even for a drone costing several times as much with obstacle avoidance. If you’re like me, and read just enough to take it off, it could be costly. You have to register it with DJI within a set time of the first time you activate it, in order to qualify for crash insurance. You have a second chance if you photograph it from all sides and submit a continuous video flying a designated pattern. Which means a very significant loss of image quality. The only minor snag I encountered is that the gimbal would sometimes flip back up slightly if I pointed it straight down.

The RTH altitude is very important to ensure your aircraft will fly at a safe and stable altitude when it returns to its home point. Before you set the return to home altitude, we recommend looking around at your surroundings to see what may be the highest obstacle and set the drone to return higher than that obstacle. By default, the drone is set to return to home at an altitude of 30m.
