This should be a major selling point for those who are looking for a drone and controller duo that they can carry around easily. I’m a bit disappointed by the image quality, but that’s hardly the reviewer’s fault. It looks like what you’d expect from such a small sensor—limited dynamic range, lots of noise, somewhat artificial-looking tonality, and not pixel-sharp even with just 12MP of resolution. The current beta version of Litchi already supports the Mavic Mini and so it is fully expected that once the SDK comes out for the Mini2 it will get support too. If you want to try something different, Autel Robotics is in the process of launching the Nano, priced at $1060. It has a three-way obstacle avoidance system along with 4K video and a 50mp camera, all weighing just dji drones under the magic 8.8 ounces . If you already have a Mini and the improved video system is not something you want, then the price may be off-putting. It’s also not going to work for you if night flying is your thing.
