In fact, we didn’t even cover it for the past 2 winters. No rips, holes, collapses but liner is starting to wear along the top where liner wraps around the rim bars. We did drain it, clean it and refill it this year which is the only time we did this after initial setup 8 yrs ago.
Last year I purchased a metal frame 12 Ft. pool from Intex. I had previously had the type that had the inflatable ring around the top which leaked air daily until I had to take it down. I thought this would be a better product due to cost, etc. After much intex purespa effort to assemble and set “just right,” the liner leaked immediately! Yesterday, I assembled the pool with the new liner; believing the other was just a fluke! Well…having paid to have water hauled in – a costly price – sure enough – it leaks!

Very quickly, submerge the bucket and place the open end over the water inlet to the pump and filter.
Be prepared to spend a whole lot of extra money on an Intex 26′ round pool. The pump and filter supplied is not adequate for this pool. I ended up having to purchase a Hayward pump & sand filter and thru the wall skimmer and then hard plumbing it. Before buying an Intex people should shop around and you can usually find a pool with correct equipment and of better quality installed for what the Intex pool is going to end up costing you. Also don’ call Intex for help, support, or warranty the are not helpful and their warrants are not what you expect . I am very unsatisfied with their products and will not make this mistake again.
All frame pieces and liners are replaceable and can be purchased separately through Intex. These pools range from smaller, shallower pools for young children up to large rectangular pools that will accommodate the whole family plus some friends. The warranties are only good on products that are purchased directly from Intex or Intex online. The larger ones have many of the same features as the Ultra Frame Pools, but the frames aren’t as robust and will rust a little faster. The Prism Frame Pools will last for four to five years, while the Ultra Frame Pools will last six to seven years.
