The CrossWave Max weighs a very respectable 5.22kg and comes with an extra large 828ml clean water tank and a larger-than-average 550ml dirty water tank with filter attached. This means you can clean for much longer than others without having to refill the clean water tank or empty the dirty one. I’ve even given some hard floor steam cleaners a whirl which you can read about in T3’s guide to the Best Steam Cleaners. It also features a two-tank design system that keeps clean and dirty water separate. This makes the filling and disposing of water super easy and you never have to worry about spreading dirty water across your floor. It works great and we use it to clean all hard floors and area rugs.
The Max cleaning path width is approximately 10.5-inch versus 12-inch on the Crosswave cordless. Self-cleaning cycle cleans the brush roll and the inside of the Crosswave. To dry floors faster, release the trigger and make a second pass without dispensing solution. Before each use, hold the Solution Spray Trigger for 10 seconds to prime the system with cleaning solution. While the CrossWave is a great cleaning machine that delivers excellent results, there are areas that would need improvement.
Well, once I purchased the Bissell Crosswave last year, I quickly found out the answer – Yes! I discussed last year how the Crosswave worked beautifully on my floors and really made it easy to freshen up my space. Regarding battery time, you should get up to around 30 minutes of use from a complete charge. And that’s more than enough time for any task bar perhaps a full four-room mopping session. The roller itself measures nine inches in width and is made from a soft wooly material with several extended bristles for scrubbing obstreperous substances off the floor.
There is also a built-in LED light which illuminates dark areas. This makes it easier to see objects in low light conditions. Safe and effective for use on tile, sealed wood floors, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, and more.
My first test was on the kitchen floor which was a different colour to what it was last week – more a shade of dark oak than the lighter shade of pine it should have been. I opted for the gentle wooden floor setting and pushed and pulled it back and forth but, alas, the wooly roller remained dry. Until I spotted the water-dispensing trigger on the handle. This writer despises household cleaning machines that can’t stand up on their own so you’ll be pleased to learn that this one can. Like an old-fashioned Hoover, you simply push the handle into an upright position and, voila, it stands up on its own.
The BISSELL® PowerClean® Wet and Dry Vacuum is a fantastic all-purpose cleaner. With a high-power 11 Amp motor, it has great cleaning ability and the combination floor tool allows for excellent cleaning on hard floors, area rugs, and low pile carpeting. The vacuum comes with a standard filter that’s placed on the topside of the dirty water tank.
What’s not great is it doesn’t pick up all of the dog hair. We have a Labrador and sometimes it leaves shark cordless white clumps on the ground. Also I did not receive the latest model I was sent the older one.
