DJI Phantom 4 RTK

The left stick flies forward, backward, to the left, and to the right. Once it’s powered on, give the Phantom a minute to ensure that it’s locked onto GPS satellites, and to make sure that the home point is correct. Satellite status is displayed in the DJI Go app, as is the home point. If you’re using a smartphone, you’ll see a world map as a small embedded window in the live feed.

Whilst the RAW files do have their limits, this shouldn’t be a major concern if you plan your flights at the right time of day, and rely on good natural light or the in-built exposure bracketing feature. In fact, I’m considering purchasing an cheaper model Phantom 3 quadcopterfor this reason alone. Anything higher than ISO 100 and the quality quickly degrades, and this is especially apparent when you start zooming in. The ability to take sharp photos under these conditions is certainly impressive, but despite this, I was expecting a little more of the RAW files. Personally, I’m not a fan of the GoPro’s field of view which is verging on fish-eye. The 20mm field of view of the dji fly strikes me as just right for its usage.

To compare the data outcome with the same image GSD of 1.8 cm (0.7 in)/px, we flew the phantom 4 RTK at 65 m and the WingtraOne RX1RII at 133 m altitude. That trend continued in the fall of 2016, launching the dji fly Pro and Phantom 4 Pro+ alongside the Inspire 2. As far as drones go, the DJI Phantom line really is the iconic design of the industry. The Phantom 4 Pro+ was as good as it gets for more than a year after the quadcopter was announced. But I have seen plenty of Phantoms that were seriously damaged and that would still start up and fly. Of course, you should not fly a damaged drone as it will not be as safe an aircraft as it could be.

I recorded everything at full auto settings, this is what you will see straight out of the box. Additional video settings include 720p and 1080p up to 120 fps, 2720×1530 up to 60 fps, 4K up to 60 fps and Cinematic 4K up to 50 fps. Overall, the Pro is a responsive drone, fast and able to go wherever you point it. As long as you remain within line of sight and under 400 feet. That said, if your laws are different than mine, you can soar this machine up to 19,685 feet. This is a service ceiling, you’re probably going to want to be 19,000 feet or higher yourself when you launch – very impressive no matter how you look at it.
