The Keurig K

Using the My K-Cup does do away with some of the convenience Keurig brewers are known for. You’ll have to add about a minute or two of prep and cleanup to your morning coffee routine. If that’s incompatible with busy weekday mornings, maybe consider this option for slower weekend brews. For coffee lovers who like their coffee on the go, this feature is worth its weight in gold. It quickly becomes tiresome brewing into a smaller coffee mug and transferring it to a travel mug, and a Keurig coffee maker should be all about convenience.

Well, here I have a closer look at the k mini vs k slim debate. By the end, you’ll know which model is perfect for you. So simple, I showed my 95 year old dad how to use one time and he has used every day since. He had a bad habit of making a pot of coffee, then putting the unused portion on the stove in a pan that he warmed up later in the day.

The water reservoir is removable, holds more water, and has a water filter offer. This machine is larger than the K Mini, though, so it may not be ideal if you don’t have a lot of counter space. You also get a water reservoir where your brew cup consists of 100% of what is in the reservoir when you press the brew button. Minimum amount of water is 6-ounces, maximum is 12-ounces. If you put 6oz in then you get a 6oz cup of coffee out – 12oz in and you get a 12 oz cup of coffee out, and so forth in between.

The coffee maker is very low-maintenance and easy to clean. In 2018 & 2019 Keurig introduced a number of new styles to their line of coffee brewers. The new Mini and Mini Plus came out as well as the new K-Café machines which directly competes with Nespresso… If you plan to move your brewer to a different location, turn the brewer off, unplug it, and empty the water reservoir. If your brewer has been in an environment below freezing, please be sure to let it warm to room temperature for at least 2 hours before using.

In fact, you have to refill the reservoir for every cup, so you can’t even continually hit the brew button. If you’re looking for a solution to long brew times and complicated processes, then you’ll get your money’s worth for this machine. However, if you’re searching for an easy-to-use machine with extra features, you may need to look elsewhere.

You can simply remove the drip plate from the k mini and wash it over the sink instead of moving the whole machine. Removing the k mini drip tray also increases clearance between the spout and the countertop making it easy to fill a travel mug. It also makes the machines compatible with travel mugs that are up to 7” long because of the added clearance. When considering the k mini vs k mini plus, brew quality is huge. Each machine uses the same Keurig Mini coffee pods.

Keurig K-Mini

The Cuisinart Coffee is one of the smallest and most inexpensive models in Keurig’s lineup. It may not be for everyone, but it’s a good option for single coffee drinkers who value simplicity and a streamlined design. A fresh design to fit in more places, K-Mini Plus is attractive and easy to use. Considering its price, there are better coffee maker bargains out there. Reflects how easy it is to operate a unit, refill the water reservoir, and clean the appliance after use.

However, the Keurig Slim doesn’t have the “Strong Brew” function offered by the K-Mini Plus, so it might not be the best option for you if you like robust coffee. The Keurig Mini is a good single-serve coffee maker, offering great value for its very appealing price. It’s easy to use, reasonably simple to clean, and produces tasty, hot coffee. You can take this off for easy cleaning or to use a taller travel mug.

Not to mention how environmentally unfriendly all those single-use plastic pods can be. If you are going to buy a single-serve Keurig machine then you may as well spend the extra money to get one with removable parts that make it easier to clean. Even a water reservoir will get dirty after a while, and being able to remove that and clean it is worth a few bucks. Such is the case with the Keurig K-Mini and the Keurig K-Mini Plus. As the Plus would indicate, the latter has a few more features that set it apart from its predecessor, but are those features something you need?
