Its other main strength – powerful battery operation – is a welcome addition to my set of tools. As an additional critique, this model has a very poorly designed storage configuration. One of the things that we like best about electric mowers is that they can be stored vertically to reduce the space needed for storage. This improvement is made possible Ego Powerload String by the lack of fluids that would leak onto the floor when stood on end. While some models in the class have perfected their storage design, Sun Joe doesn’t even make an attempt. Not only is the mower not designed to stand on its front end, the handlebar folding mechanism is so poorly designed as to make collapsing it almost not worth the effort.

There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance or lubrication. Frequently inspect the grass collection bag assembly for signs of wear and replace immediately with a genuine Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® part if the damage is found. Do not clean the lawnmower with running water, particularly with high-pressure water. For safety reasons, the lawnmower may not be used to mow inclines with gradients exceeding 15 degrees.

If the machine should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine and immediately check the machine to ascertain the cause. Make sure that the mowing area is clear of bystanders before starting the machine. Clear the mowing area of foreign objects such as rocks, wire, toys, and other miscellaneous articles, which could be picked up and thrown by the blade.

Mow across the face of slopes; never mow slopes following an up and down traverse. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on a slope. Operate the machine only in daylight or in good artificial light.

Start from the point closest to the cord and mow away from it. Corded electric ones cost anywhere from $100-$150. The handle on your lawnmower can be folded for compact storage. Start by loosening the handle knobs on each side of the upper handle and folding down the upper handle (Fig. 16). When cutting thick grass, reduce your walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less from the total length of the grass.

For easier cord visibility and management, use an orange outdoor extension cord. The mower is fairly easy to assemble out of the box. A good number of buyers commended the mower for mulching grass and leaves very well. A replaceable 10.6 gallon trimmings bag that can be swapped out for a chute that disperses trimmings to the left of the mower.
