EGO Power+ PowerLoad String Trimmer

This patented technology solves one of the biggest pain points of string trimmers, POWERLOAD technology automatically winds your trimmer. The EGO POWER+ 15″ POWERLOAD String Trimmer has a Carbon Fiber shaft that is stronger than any other string trimmer shaft on the market today. The EGO telescoping aluminum shaft string trimmer tops it all off with a high-efficiency brushless motor and a bump feed line advance system. The trimmer supports 0.095” professional cutting line, which is the size we typically use when given the choice. It provides a great combination of speed and durability. The Carbon Fiber Shaft is described as beingstronger than any other string trimmer shaft on the market today.

And in tight spots, like between rose bushes, the Ryobi didn’t feel as nimble as the Ego. The Ego is a dual-line unit, meaning that two strings extend from the cutting head. And greenworks pro it comes equipped with a 0.095-inch trimmer line, which is on the thicker side and contributes to the trimmer’s cutting ability (a wide variety of 0.095 string is available).

I’d say that I abused the tool, and kept it running nearly continuously for a little over two hours. My three 5.0Ah batteries could have kept me going for even longer, but I ran out of line. One of the biggest pain points of lawn care is now as simple as pushing a button. Garden Pro Tools provides dealer support to the following New York State Counties, Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis Onondaga, Oswego, St. Lawrence. We are required to charge sales tax for these counties. There’s a little internal motor just to wind the string onto the head in a few seconds. We got 30 minutes of runtime out of the included 2.5 amp hour battery. Again, we actually longed for a less powerful speed setting for efficiency on light-duty jobs.

Every EGO 56 Volt ARC Lithium battery powers the entire POWER+ platform of 50-plus tools. Loading the string on the Ego Power+ is relatively easy thanks to the Powerload feature. To load, you merely need to insert the string and press a button at the base of the shaft, and it will wind the string for you. This method is easy and efficient, though we found the spool difficult to open in the event of maintenance. To feed out more string, you need to lightly bump the trimmer head against the ground, allowing for uninterrupted weed-eating action. Speed settings are adjusted by changing the pressure on the trigger, though the range is essentially high speed and then higher speeds.
