The blender has a plastic base with a glass container and even comes with a brush for cleaning (we’ve always hated cleaning our blender!). Use the measuring cup in the lid to measure liquid ingredients. Always replace after ingredients have been added. Leave ’em in, add some oil, and turn the knob to low. Basically, you can cook an entire soup in the 48-ounce capacity unit (56 ounces if you’re using it with cold items like smoothies or shakes) with minimal prep. I stirred the onions a few times using the stir button, and then added broccoli florets and chicken stock. The soup cooked on high for about 15 minutes, and I lowered the heat to medium once it came to a boil. I was curious whwther this would be a valid alternative for somebody not beeing able to shell out nearly 1K $. For me the built in scales are essential as well as the kneading function as I am mostly using the tm for making bread. All the rest comes as a more than welcome supplement – as you wrote sauces and stuff like curds are super easy woth the tm. I guess also the temperature fine tuning from 37C to 120C comes very handy (e.g. When melting chocolate for brownies). Your machine will STOP when the time has come and you’re cooking without temperature settings. If you’re doing something hot, it will stop heating so you won’t overcook your food but the blades will go on softly so that the bottom won’t be in permanent touch with direct heat.

You can keep soup warm in the blender until you’re ready to serve it. Once time expires, add lemon zest and Cheddar, and blend on speed 1, gradually raising to speed 3 for 3 minutes, or until completely smooth. After the judges deliberated for a while after tasting the soups, our team was thrilled to have tied for first place.
