Brunswick bought Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was purchased by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a number one bicycle firm in the world shall be created, with a combined revenue of round 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a model name of bicycles originally mongoose hybrid bike designed, manufactured, and offered by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was an entirely owned manufacturing division created for insurance purposes to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, even though RECO was all the time produced in-house.
It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his try to market motorbike frames. Skip Hess began BMX Products, Inc. out of his home in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 along with his first product being the well-known Motomag One wheel. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day were produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location.
