Even if new, the GA100 came out a while ago, so it could be one that sat in a warehouse for a long time. I would first change the battery and do an AC reset, then see if that will help. I bought my first G, a G-shock Ga-100-1a1 a couple of days ago hoping to get a watch that is durable and accurate. Unfortunately, it is losing about 4 seconds every day which is about 120 seconds a month, well beyond Casio’s claim of +-15 seconds a month.
Sized at over 50mm, this is not a small watch by any means. However, it’s not too heavy to comfortably wear all day long. Its weight is just 70g, even much lighter than a 40mm metal watch (normally 200 – 300g). For Casio G Shock watches, the feeling of unstoppable g shock protection that they give their wearers doesn’t come from the heaviness, but the big size & hefty design instead. The “BAR” value indicates the number of atmospheres to which water resistance is ensured. Watches marked “200m” have the same water resistance as 20 BAR watches.
I really like that it’s entirely black except for the hands, makes it super easy to read at a glance. The glass is the most vulnerable part of a wristwatch. In order to protect it from accidental hits and bumps, Casio covered it with a prominent urethane bezel that can absorb external g shock protection forces. Mineral glass alone is durable enough, along with a highly shock – resistant case, they make an extremely tough watch that can survive intensive physical abuses.
Check out the GA-2100, it’s much more readable and it has two lights, a separate one for the digital display and a separate one for the analog hands. Cost should be around the same as for the GA-110, or just a tiny bit more for the GA-2100. What I really don’t like about those 2 models is there is no backlight for the digital display. There is an led for the analog but I’ve never been very satisfied with them. Needless to say, the No.1 character that drives users to the G Shock watches is their superb toughness.

The base model is the anti-magnetic GA-100 analog-digital combination watch, and the five models of this lineup are available in black, blue, orange, white, and beige. Bi-color molding makes it possible to create a new type of band with different colors for the inner and outer surfaces. The inside surface coloring is visible from the sides of the band and through the band holes g shock watch for an original look. The military motif of these models is highlighted by their coloring, which recalls the inner lining of a flight jacket. If the watch is dropped, the protruding bezel fully enclosing it absorbs the shock, protecting the buttons directly connected to the module and alleviating shocks from all directions. The G-Shock area was probably the most interesting to me because those Japanese designers frequently have something stimulation each year that you don’t expect. This year it was a watch with a surprisingly affordable watch. Not like any Casio is unaffordable, but given the rise in quality and prices in Citizen and Seiko, I was expecting some similar high-end stuff from Casio. For me, one of their major 2010 stars was a very inexpensive watch – and I think most people will like it.
