G Shock Watch

The team had assembled and tested nearly 200 prototypes but were still not able to achieve the conception criteria. With that in mind, the team set out to develop a watch using such a concept and in 1983, the first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, was launched. After setting the watch and putting it on, the clasp on the band broke. Luckily, he was able to fix it in about 20 minutes, but good grief.

You’ll find it features metal construction, bluetooth connectivity, atomic clock syncing to provide dead-accurate timekeeping, dual time zones and more. These relatively premium G-Shocks are popular because they’re so damn great, but they remain pretty readily available. Styled just like the originals, but now with fully metal construction, including bracelets on some models. These look like the 1980s but function futuristically with solar power and they come in a range of finishes from traditional steel, gold or black to some typically G-Shock, funky iterations.

I’m even a light sleeper & it’s almost inaudible when I’m awake. Now I’m forced into using an alarm clock which doesn’t make me happy after having spent more on this watch than any other watch I’ve ever owned. I have small wrists & have never liked resin bands but hoped that Casio was putting a more comfortable band on a pricier watch. Well, I tried it for several days & if you have a small wrist it’s no better fitting or more comfortable than the cheap plastic band on a no name watch. I won’t go into the specifics other than to say if you’ve used resin bands in the past & been less than pleased with them you won’t be any more pleased with this one. But if you’re satisfied with them, you’ll be happy with this one too.

The seller dispatched very fast and I tracked it throughout all its journey to my hands. The packaging was perfect and anyway I couldnt really be worried for the watch being damaged since it is a g-shock after all. Almost all G-Shocks will have a stopwatch, a countdown timer, a backlight, and 200m of water resistance. Beyond that, Casio riffs g shock protection endlessly with style and functionality, from resin-cased altimeter- and barometer-loaded models to precious-metal atomic-clock referencing dual-time world travelers. In reality, it’s tough to wrangle all of G-Shock constantly evolving offerings into a coherent picture, but this guide should help you navigate your way to one that suits you.

But depth is not the single thing on a divers watch to consider when choosing one. You might ask yourself, what’s so special about this watch to make it perfect for diving since the 200-meter water resistance is the same as with all other G-Shocks? At first, the 200-meter resistance feature might look the same, but it’s not. The Frogmans are the only ISO 6425 certified G-Shocks, capable of diving to the 200-meter depth mark. All the other G-Shocks will go bust before reaching that point; they’re really intended for swimming and shallow diving. Here’s the video of a test on a Frogman being taken to 200 meters deep and still holding its own.
