With a sense of depth achieved with three-dimensional molding, the dial features a minute-mark-notched dial ring, three-dimensional index cuts, a mode dial and irregular shaped LCD in a sweetly balanced arrangement. The spacious layout makes for a face design offering simplicity as well as excellent visibility. This special color model is sure to become cherished possessions, regardless of whether it is purchased or received as a gift. The GA-2100’s quartz movement is made in Japan.
But there is certainly more scope to wear this in a business environment. The Rolex GMT-Master II is often seen as ideal “business attire” and yet it is no more graceful than this model on the wrist (certainly not the modern versions, that’s for sure). So is this model a more “grown-up” version of the resin model?
I really love it if it have the seconds hand on the Analog portion of the watch . Casio Mudmaster is an accurate and bullet proof watch. With pride in its unchanging form, the G-SHOCK mission is one of continuous advancement, always transcending the times, conventional wisdom, and the limits of imagination. With a toughness emblematic of the new era, the GA-2100 has arrived.
The flaws aren’t visible to the unaided eye at a normal distance. I chose the white-on-black 1A – it’s more legible than the gray-on-black 1A1 and I’m not flashy enough to rock a fire engine red watch. It seems to me that this kind of release has more bankable success for a brand like Casio than the wild and wonderful Casio G-Shock MT-G MTG-B2000PH2A “Blue Phoenix” that Lex recently reviewed.
The LCD is extremely tiny, and individuals with vision problems or aging eyes may find it worthless. This was no design merely pursuing simplicity. The designers’ intent inspires the GA-2100 down to the finest details, like dimensional dial g shock watch and index. The monochromatic color scheme features an optimized combination of hues hand-selected from a range of color charts. The first GA-2100 watch was introduced in 2019, expanding the possibilities of toughness and analog style.
Japan-cased watches carry the JF suffix, at a price premium of about 40 to 100 percent. Considering G-SHOCK’s automated assembly, I’m not sure it makes any difference where the factory is located, at least in terms of quality. That said, the GA-2100’s still a hundred dollar watch. Under a macro lens you can see that the hands’ finish is a bit spotty.
In the Golden Halls of Fratello HQ, there is one man whose opinion on Casio counts for more than anyone else’s. Gerard, G2, G-Pops — call him what you like, he is the Godfather of G-Shock, or, perhaps better, the G-Father. And so I told him my feelings about metal G-Shocks in advance of starting this review. Graciously, he let me borrow his recently purchased limited edition G-Shock in titanium (reference GMW-B5000TB-1).
While it is definitely a distinctive bezel, it is a smaller and less obtrusive one than other G-Shock models. This gives the watch a more conservative look, while still retaining signature G-Shock elements with the case g shock protection and band. The dial of the GA-2100 offers a refined style that isn’t too busy and looks both contemporary and timeless. Overall, it simply looks classier than other analog-digital G-Shock models in the same price range.
