Dyson’s New Robot Vacuum Dyson robot vacuum, Dyson vacuums, Dyson vacuum cleaner

Again, this has quite a few similarities to newer V-Series models. The biggest strike against good usability has got to be the 20 minute run time. For many homes, this may simply not be enough time to get the job done.

Onthe filed documents, the new robot vacuum cleaner is just called the RBO3. The FCC filing could indicate that the brand is ready to launch the machine in the US. The iRobot Roomba 980 has also dropped the ball when it comes to overall performance. However, the 980 does make sure it picks up as much as possible and does a fairly decent job.

A design that’s too tall, a price that’s too high, and a set of features that’s too limited keep us from giving the Dyson 360 Eye our full recommendation. But this robot did give us an idea of the impressive engineering Dyson is capable of, and we fully expect to see better results from future versions. Dyson has been working on a robot vacuum for nearly two decades. The Dyson 360 Eye (MSRP $999) is the result of all that research and testing, and it’s finally on sale in the U.S. That means it’s time to cut through the marketing hype and put the 360 Eye through its paces in our robot vacuum test lab. The FCC filings come as the Dyson 360 Eye, which the company revealed as its first robotic vacuum in 2014, is listed as “out of stock” on the company’s US website.

We’re very happy with the little vacuum, but the software is lacking. When mapping our home, about 1/2 of the bedroom floor was missed. I can’t find any way of re-mapping just that one piece of the puzzle, and so the vacuum is missing that part. I thought the mapping would be updated as more areas were found – but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

It picked up brilliantly, especially on carpets, and thankfully the 2.0 version continues, and improves upon, this tradition, with powerful cleaning that puts the competition to shame. If it’s a basic clean you’re after, the lowest setting is relatively quiet while there’s three higher settings giving you room to ramp things up for bigger messes—but, then, bissell crosswave cordless it does get quite loud . There’s also a decent size water tank and the option to use a reusable mop or some disposable mops when your hard floors need a stronger once over. For those with a particularly busy or big household, robot vacuums can be a godsend. Many now ‘learn’ the layout of rooms throughout the house, letting you set it down and let it go.

Additional setting and controls can be accessed with your smartphone via the Dyson Link app. The 900 Series also comes with a new feature called “Recharge and Resume” which allows the Roomba to charge up in the middle of a cycle and then return to the spot it left off. The Roomba 980 can do this feature twice in a row, allowing for up to 360 minutes of combined run time. Instead of a centrally located “CLEAN” button, the Roomba 900 Series does shift that button up slightly in order to make room for the onboard camera, a critical component to the advanced navigation in this model. There are many different models of the Dyson Animal currently in production.

Stick vacuums have been popular because of their lightweight and cordless mobility, which makes cleaning less of a hassle than schlepping an upright corded vacuum around. Generally, though, the sticks have served dyson robot vacuum as a secondary cleaner to a full-size vacuum because of their short battery life and relatively weak suction. This makes a reliable addition to any home, proving a consistent cleaner on hard floors and carpet.
