The Beats are on-ear headphones with a longer continuous battery life and a more accurate bass response, which some may prefer. They also have a significantly better noise isolation performance.
On the other hand, the Beats are more versatile Bluetooth headphones. They have a great ANC feature, leak much less sound, and have a significantly better onboard control scheme. The AKG N60NC are much more comfortable than the Beats Solo Pro, because the clamping force is less intense. Contrary to what you may think, this isn’t to the detriment of noise cancelling performance. In fact, AKG’s on-ear ANC headphones do a better job of combatting external noise than Beats’.
With that kind of endurance, I’ve only had to charge the Solo Pros once a week, if that. Should you somehow find yourself almost out of battery, a 10-minute charge should be enough to get three hours of listening time. When you’re done hearing what you need to, just hit the button again to crank noise canceling back up. They come in a soft felt-like case, which is made from recycled materials and has a fair amount of give. I wouldn’t call the case super protective, but it’s easy to stow away in a bag.
To achieve the same figure on the Solo Pro, you’ll have to charge it for 10 mins to have a similar battery performance. On-board controls for volume adjustments are on the outside of the right earcup. Press the top to increase the level or the bottom to turn the audio down.
