Sure, this set has comfortable handles and cooks food well, but what we really appreciated was the variety of products included. The pieces are also compatible with induction stoves and can withstand nearly any type of kitchen utensil without worrying you’ll scratch the finish. While this set is definitely not cheap, you get what you pay for with All-Clad—it’s a set of cookware you won’t have cuisinart knife to replace for years, if ever. Because copper is such an excellent conductor of heat, we decided to test the All-Clad Copper Core 10-Piece Set to see how it would perform against regular tri-ply stainless steel cookware. In our tests, the Copper Core cookware heated up so fast we had to swirl the pan more when making caramel, to prevent it from burning.

The only thing that didn’t quite meet our expectations was the nonstick coating. We found some mild sticking but nothing that was decidedly major in a few of our tests. It redeemed itself by being a breeze to clean, even on the gloves on the side. One thing to keep in mind, though, is this particular set is not compatible with induction cooktops.

On top of that, the lids have tiny handles that we found difficult to grasp, and the set comes with only one skillet. Stick handles that provide an easy grip and a comfortable angle allow you to quickly move saucepans around the stovetop using only one hand. So we dismissed sets with small or medium saucepans that had two side handles.

Avoid putting coating cookware under high water pressure like a dishwasher.
