Mongoose Guide Adventure bike highlights 2018 line, along with new kids’ bikes, fat bikes, and more

The Argus Sport also moves up to the Arisun 4.9″ tires, but runs quick release front and rear with a non-suspension corrected aluminum fork. Equipped with a 2x drivetrain, the Argus Sport will sell for $699. The long chain stays a single-speed drivetrain with a tubular Chromoly three-piece crank that offers performance while keeping things simple. It features durable, lightweight aluminium mongoose mountain bike rims with a rear mechanical disc brake for all-weather stopping power and speed control. The single crankset and amazing arisun tires, the latest line of BMX race bikes, the Title series, have been designed using that same race pedigree. Designed for beginner-level riders, the Mongoose Title Expert gives you a trophy-worthy BMX-style bike at an amazingly affordable price.

That’s a huge difference, and a good reminder that kids bikes are not one size fits all. Whether your little one is timid to get started on a bike or is ready to charge full on into the world via two wheels, the Pello Revo is ready for action. With a lightweight build, quality brakes that stop on a dime, and handlebars that adjust to fine tune the fit, the Revo provides a comfortable, exciting, and nimble ride.

A great first “real” kids bike with more sophisticated adult styling, the Start will have your child craving adventure on two wheels in no time. An added bonus – kids think the super quiet belt drive is ninja cool for stealth mode, and parents love mongoose mountain bike that the belt drive requires basically no maintenance, and won’t get hands or pants greasy. Wondering what all of our favorite 16 inch bikes look like in action? Check out our video summary below to watch our kid bike riders put them to the test.

We’ve put over forty 16 inch pedal bikes to the test with real kids! As result, we have learned firsthand that there isn’t one best bike, but rather bikes that are better for different types of riders. More often than not, it will be front suspension with only a couple of inches of travel. Most kids, especially younger kids, aren’t heavy enough to need suspension as they are often too light for it to activate.

These bikes serve dual purposes, one being a mountain bike, and the other being a road bike. They offer impressive versatility and are perfect for city commutes. Every bike on this list is significantly better than a bike you’ll find at Walmart, but also costs more. High gain ratios (3.7+) are harder to get started pedaling but can more easily maintain higher speeds. Lower gain ratios (3.3 and below) are really easy to start pedaling but can’t reach high maximum speeds. For 16 inch bikes, we generally prefer mid-range gain ratios from about 3.3 to 3.7.

While most adults’ bikes weigh around 20% of their total weight, a good kid’s bike should weigh around 40% of their total weight. I’ve always felt that BMX biking is the perfect way for a kid to learn all the skills necessary to take their biking experience in any direction. And it is impossible to review Mongoose bikes for kids without including some BMX models.
