360 Heurist robot vacuum

The Dyson 360 Eye has advanced visual technology that makes it the best robot vacuum in terms of navigation and mapping. It won’t collide with objects and furniture near as much as the competition. However, it is taller and will not get in as many places as some of the smaller vacuums.

The only downside to this is that the extractor bar is not the easiest to remove. Cleaning and maintenance are much like a standard upright and can take quite a bit of time and effort. The 980 also uses two side brushes that rotate to push dirt and debris to the center of the cleaning path.

When this happens, the machine will start flashing an amber LED ring and you’ll be alerted to go and rescue your Heurist within the app, with step-by-step instructions to get it all running smoothly again. The Dyson 360 Heurist aims to resolve these problems with a high-performing vacuum that claims to have bissell crosswave cordless 20% more suction than its predecessors. There isn’t much difference in the modes except for a loss of suction, which will result in you not using the quiet mode, which is why it wasn’t mentioned before now. The 360 Eye will probably not go under the bed as it relies on light for the camera to update.

The RoboVac 30C is another solid robot vacuum cleaner for the budget-conscious. It’s circular in shape and has a low profile so it can fit under furniture and clean the carpet under your bed, and it will recharge itself at its base when it runs low on battery power. With up to 100 minutes of cleaning per charge, though, it should be able to cope with even the largest of rooms before having to do that. As the newest cordless vacuum in Dyson’s lineup, the V15 Detect is one impressive machine. It’s the best performing stick vacuum of its kind that we’ve ever tested. The cordless vac excels at removing pet hair from multiple floor surfaces.

The most interesting change for this product, though, is the new shape. Dyson’s previous vacuums, the 360 Eye and 360 Heurist, have been taller and narrower than rival products built by iRobot and the like. This allows them tighter cornering around items like chair legs, but stops them from vacuuming under some furniture. It’s hard to gauge the exact dimensions of this new product (despite the inclusion of rulers in pictures, the perspective is confusing), but it does seem to be wider and flatter than the Eye and Heurist. This would tally with Dyson’s past comments that the Heurist was not quite right for US homes.

All the Roombas basically use the same motors and suction, so the noise level depends on the surface where it is vacuuming. If you just look at the specs, you’d think that the Dyson 360 Eye would be the best robotic vacuum available right now. A majority of consumers say that cleaning performance isn’t an issue. On carpet expect roughly the same performance as a Dyson DC44 which means it works best as an in-between deep cleaning session maintenance tool. It will not deep clean carpet but it makes up for it with hands-free operation. It isn’t their first robotic vacuum but this is the first to be available to consumers but very expensive.

If the robot can’t move over your floor, then it wouldn’t be a very good option. Luckily the 360 Eye and the Roomba 980 make use of wheels and tank tracks for mobility. It takes 30 images per second to get the current layout of the space and then creates a panoramic view to follow.

As you shop for a robot vacuum in a diverse market, consider one with improved performance, better navigation, and the simplicity of setting routines remotely. Even on carpet, the 960 was able to capture 100% of the rice, kitty litter, and cereal for a perfect clean. The Roomba 960 also cleans in a way that is very similar to other Roomba models.

The 360 Heurist has plenty of performance improvements over the original 360 to make it a better cleaner – we’ll get to those – but the most intriguing feature is night vision. However, unlike the basic mapping of the 360 Eye, the Heurist really ups the game with personalized zones and room settings. If, like me, you have got side units and appliances that you do want the gap underneath cleaning then the Dyson isn’t for you. You do end up sacrificing large parts of your flooring as no-go zones due to its taller stature.

The main downside is that this vacuum is so loud in the Max mode that you can hardly have a conversation. When cleaning carpets, it captured 70-76% of large debris, so that was much better than it’s performance of cleaning large debris on hardwoods. Overall, the V6 collected 94% of debris on low pile carpet and 92% of debris on high pile carpet, averaging irobot vacuum cleaner out all debris types tested. The cleaning process of the Dyson V8 is  similar to that of the V10, and well basically all of the V-Series Dyson stick vacuums. It has a floor motorized cleaning head, debris travels up the stick, and deposits into the dust bin. The Roomba 960 is the step below the Roomba 980, but still within iRobot’s 900 Series.
